The Project Manager Level 2 (PM L2) has primary responsibility for managing a specific project or projects assigned by the Government, to include project requirements, scope, budget, schedule, and performance. The PM L2 monitors, adjusts, and reports on the project’s performance, budget, and schedule. The PM L2 shall provide interim progress reviews to the Government on an as-needed basis. The PM L2 assists with proposing, implementing, and enforcing Government policies, standards, and methodologies and is responsible for either developing or supervising the preparation of studies, reports, and acquisition documents. The PM L2 shall work from the latest Government-approved version of the Project management processes (PMP). The PMP is an evolutionary document that shall be updated annually at a minimum and as project changes occur.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Documenting all support requirements in a PMP and providing it to the Government.
- Describing the proposed management
- Maintaining detailed SOPs for all
- Including milestones, tasks, and subtasks required
- Providing for an overall Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) with a minimum of three levels and associated responsibilities and partnerships between Government (i.e., Components, Commands, and TSOCs) and contractor organizations.
- Describing in detail the Project Manager’s QMP and approach to risk management
- Describing in detail the Project Manager’s approach to communications, including processes, procedures, format, and other rules of engagement
- Maintaining the location of technical and project management
- Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission
