  Peraton is seeking a Fire Protection Design Engineer in our Monrovia, CA location in support of the Deep Space Network (DSN) program with NASA/JPL.   The Deep Space Network is NASA’s international array of giant radio antennas that supports interplanetary spacecraft missions, plus a few that orbit Earth. The DSN also provides radar and radio astronomy observations that improve our understanding of the solar system and the larger universe. The antennas of the Deep Space Network are the indispensable link to explorers venturing beyond the moon. They provide the crucial connection for commanding our spacecraft and receiving their never before seen images and scientific information on Earth, propelling our understanding of the universe, our solar system and ultimately, our place within it.   Reporting to the Facilities Engineering Manager, as a Fire Protection Design Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring quality and timely deliveries of our Fire Protection system along with additional services to customers. The design engineer requires an in-depth understanding of current Fire Protection design standards and industry processes. As a licensed Fire Protection Engineer, you will be the primary contact for customer facing project work. This key position works closely with AHJ’S and clients to ensure projects are compliant and being completed as assigned. The Fire Protection design engineer is fully responsible and accountable for the final design content and document generation to support the Fire Protection system. The right candidate for this position can meet required deadlines and communicate effectively with customers and jurisdictional authorities.     Responsibilities: - Attend project Kick-Off meetings, facilitate design reviews, provide construction inspection (as necessary), and test/commission system deliveries - Plan, direct, and oversee fire protection engineering activities including project execution, testing, and recommend operational spares. Resolves reporting and compliance issues. - Support a large multiple element engagement from beginning to end, with understanding of Close, Forecast, Invoicing, Pricing and Collections. - Reports to customer on funding levels for CLINs on a weekly basis to ensure no breaks in service. - Monitor DSO calculations and take actions in order to drive cash collection. - Validate Backlog Revenue on a quarterly basis adjusting as needed based on customer spending patterns.

This position will allow for primarily telework, with travel to the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD and other NASA locations as needed, and will require a person who is within a commutable distance locally.     In this role, you will be responsible for creating a platform that will be delivered to our customer; this platform will utilize COTS, and have a Cloud native architecture. You will be a part of a dynamic team responsible for systems engineering, design, development, integration, test, and maintenance of a platform which will enable any mission to be supported by any service provider.
