The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.   Our Mid-level Electrical Engineer performs a variety of engineering research and or product development in an engineering discipline such as electronic, electrical, and mechanical engineering.  Specific tasks include:  - Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, to include supportability and effectiveness for USPS systems - Ability to use advanced theory, mathematical, scientific, or engineering principles to solve problems, conduct testing, prepare documentation, create applications, or devices in the completion of their work - Design and develops systems to test and validate solutions for repairable items - Analyses are performed to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal - Design, develop, and modifiy system and repairable item test plans - Assist with implementation of test plan, associated specifications, and software change processes based on overall system and/or repairable item requirements - Provide initial technical support in assessments of determining repairable item status based on system requirements - Represent the organization as a subject matter expert and provides customer support in the system engineer discipline - Assist in reviewing procedures to ensure that the test and repair process is current and complete - Review and evaluates failure data received from field locations, and offers recommendations for resolutions - Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications - Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings - Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements are integrated into USPS systems solutions which address technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
