Peraton is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, develop, implement and maintain the network infrastructures under NASA’s Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract. This position is located at the NASA White Sands Complex (WSC) in Las Cruces, NM.   Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA at the WSC near Las Cruces, New Mexico. Operating here are two functionally identical satellite ground terminals: The White Sands Ground Terminal, and the Second TDRSS Ground Terminal. These ground terminals ensure uninterrupted communications between various ground stations, NASA’s orbiting fleet of Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), customer spacecraft (satellites), and the computer systems that support such spacecraft. WSC serves as an interface for distributing satellite data to control centers and scientists who then use the daily influx of data to expand our ever-growing knowledge of the Earth and the universe.   This position will be responsible for: - Design network topologies, architectures and services to support the information systems at the WSC and its remote sites. - Configuration of network switches, routers and firewalls. - Troubleshoot network anomalies and resolve communication disruptions. - Capture system installations and modifications within change management documentation and drawings. - Monitor network performance and integrity, and report on areas of improvement or concern. - Track, create and/or propose remediation solutions for vulnerability findings reported by the IT Security team. - Provide systems engineering technical support across the SENSE organization, technical working groups, peer reviews, technical interchange meetings, and periodic status coordination meetings.

Peraton is seeking a mid-senior level Systems Administrator to who will be responsible for maintaining MS Windows and Red Hat servers and workstations at White Sands Complex near Las Cruces, NM. The Systems Administrator will join a team of engineers dedicated to maintaining the health and safety of multiple spacecraft/satellite communications systems and equipment to include the advancement of U.S. scientific and national security capabilities across the mission areas of Communications, Space Weather and Situational Awareness.   Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico. Operating here are two functionally identical satellite ground terminals: The White Sands Ground Terminal, and the Second TDRSS Ground Terminal. These ground terminals ensure uninterrupted communications between various ground stations, NASA’s orbiting fleet of Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), customer spacecraft (satellites), and the computer systems that support such spacecraft. Peraton is seeking a junior-mid level Spacecraft Operations Controller to join our team at White Sands Complex (WSC) in Las Cruces, NM. You’ll join a team dedicated to mission operations of the Laser Communications Relay Demonstration (LCRD) which is NASA’s next step in optical communications. These optical communication capabilities use infrared lasers to send data to and from space. The technology will let NASA collect more science data and explore farther into the universe than ever before.   The position supports real-time operations, monitoring, and command and control of the LCRD payload from the Laser Mission Operations Center (LMOC) located at WSC.   This position is responsible for: - Prepare for providing Mission Operations Team (MOT) functions for the LCRD payload Mission Operations during post-launch power-on and operational testing at WSC. - Perform real-time commanding and telemetry verification of the LCRD payload. - Perform real-time payload state of health evaluation, trending, and analysis for first level payload sub-system engineering troubleshooting. - Conduct payload flight software uploads, verifying the integrity of all products and commands loaded to the payload. - Support real-time anomaly investigation and resolution and follow established LCRD Fault Escalation policies and procedures. - LCRD operations efforts to include participation in working group meetings and major reviews, mission readiness testing, mission simulations and rehearsals, and mission operational readiness exercises in preparation for launch and on-orbit commissioning. - Provide test engineering support to the LCRD Mission by configuring interfaces and developing test procedures, telemetry pages, system scripts (PROCs), and Operations Procedures.  - Primarily a day-shift position but the selected candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays on a rotational basis when required.
