Peraton is seeking a Jr./Mid-Level Systems Engineer - Testbed in Pasadena, CA.     Peraton provides technical expertise for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) which supports enabling planetary and science missions for NASA and unique missions for the DOD, developing and executing complex, and cutting edge technology missions.Our staff are located in Pasadena, CA, where we design and analyze hardware, and support integration and test at JPL. Our engineers and technician staff support the missions from concept, through development, launch and mission operations.   Responsibilities include: - Provide systems engineering for the design and implementation of spacecraft for the laboratory's key flight projects. - Work spans spacecraft systems engineering, payload systems integration, electrical systems integration, fault protection and autonomy design, landing systems design, spacecraft assembly and test, systems verification and validation, and systems modeling. - Reports administratively to the Technical Group Supervisor and programmatically to the Lead Systems Engineer. Serve as a System Testbed Engineer on the NISAR, Psyche, or Europa Clipper project. - Initial tasks include authoring, executing, and reporting on procedures for the verification and validation of system level requirements, collecting and presenting test data to close requirements, and debugging problems in the flight system hardware and software, the electrical ground support equipment, and the simulation. - Work independently and within a team environment, collaborating on tasks performed across a spectrum of disciplines and have excellent writing and oral presentation skills. - Ensure that the system testing is successfully accomplished according to plan. - Attend project meetings and work with other team members to accomplish project goals. - Regularly meet with the team, assess status, review problems, plan short-term and long-term activities as well as present test results at project reviews and meetings. - Participate in multidisciplinary and multi-organizational working groups across government and non-government agencies in order to plan and execute end-to-end testing activities.

What you’ll do… - Maintains current status of local weather conditions and weather trends as they influence mission support. - Communicates with the TARS Control Center, Meteorological Forecast Facilities, and other Government agencies as appropriate. - Makes significant event and data entries in the mission flight log. - Prepares and maintains the flight system weight logs and the weight and balance records for the operational aerostat. - Maintains cognizance of system performance. - Conducts routine aerostat performance computations as necessary to acquire data results relative to aerostat system state-of-health trends. - Determines when helium addition is required and computes the quantity to be added. - Keeps and provides reports of on-hand helium assets and helium usage. - Evaluates aerostat lift and purity trends.
