Seeking an engineer to work in the Guidance, Navigation, & Control (GNC) section. This position will require an individual to be able to work individually and work in a team environment. Applicant will work on a variety of projects, typically multiple at any one time. Applicant will be the Attitude Control System or GNC engineer for sounding rocket missions. This position supports NASA’s Sounding Rocket Operations Contract (NSROC) at the Wallops Flight Facility. NSROC supports approximately 20 sounding rocket shots per year. This program supports a range of scientific and government experiments. Missions are flown from a variety of launch sites including Wallops, White Sands Missile Range, Poker Flats Rocket Range, Alaska, Kwajalein, Andöya, Norway, and Svalbard. Applicants are encouraged to read about the Sounding Rocket Program and familiarize themselves with the Wallops Island area prior to applying. The application will support system development throughout the entire mission life cycle including launch at remote sites. Travel is required. Typical travel to the remote launch site lasts 4 to 6 weeks. This position requires the ability to understand and apply a broad range of technical disciplines germane GNC problems.
These areas include but are not limited to:
- Control systems design and analysis, attitude and navigation solutions, software (C and others, real-time applications), electrical H/W – digital and mixed-signal, mechanical systems, cold gas pneumatics, and various sensors including rate gyros, inertial measurement units, star trackers, accelerometers, and magnetometers.

What you will do:
- The integration engineer will be responsible for advancing the enterprise design to include Data Center upgrades, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, SAN, MS and CISCO based systems upgrades. What you’ll do:
The Investigator will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Conducting background investigations for the purpose of determining employment suitability of persons who require access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information
- The predominant casework is in support of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). Casework for other contracts will be assigned based on investigator performance and business need
- Investigators will conduct face-to-face interviews with the subject and their neighbors, employers, friends, and family
- Investigators will also perform record searches at police agencies, courthouses, educational and financial institutions, and medical/mental health facilities
- Investigators report all obtained information in a clear and concise report on an issued government computer system
Analyzes user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications as informed by enterprise customers. Working within a Service/Help Desk, provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of identified problems/concerns. Works through end user requirements, from initial request to completion of value delivered. Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and solution architecting. Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of System Engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Provides support for the dispatch of systems problems/solutions and remains involved in the end-to-end resolution process. Configures and software systems and troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures components along with implementing enhancements to improve reliability and performance for end user community.

Peraton has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Operations Service Owner Lead to lead and manage the enterprise technology infrastructure, daily operations, and business systems of the on-premise and cloud-based SOF Information Environment (SIE) with a team of contract employees, subcontractors, and enabling third-party vendors in support of government requirements for the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) in support of United States (U.S.) Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Responsibilities include service delivery across the enterprise infrastructure and operations as well as influencing stakeholders and directing technology solutions to ensure key SIE initiatives and processes are driven by systems that enable change, growth, and flexibility for USSOCOM, Service-led Components, and Theater Special Operations Commands. Additionally, the Operations Service Owner Lead will be responsible for assigning tasks to contractor & subcontractor personnel, supervising ongoing SITEC 3 EOM technical efforts, coordinating with the USSOCOM TPOC, and managing the overall infrastructure and operations performance within scope of the SITEC 3 EOM contract.
The Operations Service Owner Lead must be self-motivated and will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to communicate clearly, both written and orally. The Operations Service Owner Lead must have strong management and communication skills to interact and coordinate effectively with distributed service delivery teams as well as both internal and external executive leadership teams.
The Operations Service Owner Lead is responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of Network Operations and System and Network Infrastructure Services including managing technical issues and business processes across enterprise IT locations; managing and responding to Government issues, concerns, and comments; and proactively alerting leadership to potential contractual or programmatic and resource limitation issues. Close collaboration with other technical and non-technical service owners will be critical.
The Operations Service Owner Lead will be the main interface for infrastructure operations between SITEC 3 EOM and key SIE stakeholders across USSOCOM overseeing the day-to-day technical operations and infrastructure of the SIE including oversight of related projects enabling supported organizations with the tools and resources to effectively fulfill their missions, roles, and responsibilities. Additionally, the Operations Service Owner lead will oversee the systems, services, and interfaces that enable close collaboration with, and support of, US Joint Forces, Interagency, and Multinational mission partners in order to sustain the USSOCOM national defense mission.
Typical Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Management, leadership, development, and retention of the infrastructure and operations technology team, including training initiatives, mentoring, and performance coaching.
- Supporting the Enterprise (and other) Deputy Program Managers with supplying various reporting of issues and managing day to day activities with direct contact.
- Customer relationship management interfacing with leaders and TPOC’s within USSOCOM for effective resolution of issues in your workspace.

- Lead infrastructure project reviews with both project leaders and stakeholders.
- Track and support project leaders with resolution of major project roadblocks as required.
- A level of knowledge with Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) combined with Hybrid Cloud solutions is required. Working with other platform owners/peers collaboratively in this space, troubleshooting and innovating with subordinates managing HCI directly.
