Systems Engineer (Mid-Level) As a key personnel for the TIP customer, the ideal candidate must have and must demonstrate strong systems engineering acumen with previous experience in the application and execution of the systems lifecycle. Seeking an engineer to work in the Guidance, Navigation, & Control (GNC) section. This position will require an individual to be able to work individually and work in a team environment.  Applicant will work on a variety of projects, typically multiple at any one time.  Applicant will be the Attitude Control System or GNC engineer for sounding rocket missions.  This position supports NASA’s Sounding Rocket Operations Contract (NSROC) at the Wallops Flight Facility.  NSROC supports approximately 20 sounding rocket shots per year.  This program supports a range of scientific and government experiments.  Missions are flown from a variety of launch sites including Wallops, White Sands Missile Range, Poker Flats Rocket Range, Alaska, Kwajalein, Andöya, Norway, and Svalbard.  Applicants are encouraged to read about the Sounding Rocket Program and familiarize themselves with the Wallops Island area prior to applying. The application will support system development throughout the entire mission life cycle including launch at remote sites.  Travel is required.  Typical travel to the remote launch site lasts 4 to 6 weeks. The SITE III DO contract is designed to establish and ensure a multi-discipline approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across the National apparatus of Defense Intelligence, Combatant Commands, supporting Partner Nations and other Federal Agencies to ensure timely and accurate Human Intelligence (HUMINT) collection, correlation and dissemination.  Our support team applies best practices in architecture design, data science, cloud services, DevSecOps and platform integration to develop, sustain and continually evolve the global U.S. human intelligence apparatus and supporting partners.     The Data Scientist – Mid Level will be responsible for the following, but not limited to: - Involved in the analysis of unstructured and semi-structured data, including latent semantic indexing (LSI), entity identification and tagging, complex event processing (CEP), and the application of analysis algorithms on distributed, clustered, and cloud-based high-performance infrastructures. - Exercises creativity in applying non-traditional approaches to large-scale analysis of unstructured data in support of high-value use cases visualized through multi-dimensional interfaces. - Handle processing and index requests against high-volume collections of data and high-velocity data streams. - Ability to make discoveries in the world of big data. - Requires strong technical and computational skills - engineering, physics, mathematics, coupled with the ability to code design, develop, and deploy sophisticated applications using advanced unstructured and semi-structured data analysis techniques and utilizing high-performance computing environments. - Ability to utilize advance tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict and make discoveries in complex data and deliver recommendations for business and analytic decisions. - Experience with software development, either an open-source enterprise software development stack (Java/Linux/Ruby/Python) or a Windows development stack (.NET, C#, C++). - Experience with data transport and transformation APIs and technologies such as JSON, XML, XSLT, JDBC, SOAP and REST. - Experience with Cloud-based data analysis tools including Hadoop and Mahout, Acumulo, Hive, Impala, Pig, and similar. - Experience with visual analytic tools like Microsoft Pivot, Palantir, or Visual Analytics. - Experience with open-source textual processing such as Lucene, Sphinx, Nutch or Solr. - Experience with entity extraction and conceptual search technologies such as LSI, LDA, etc. - Experience with machine learning, algorithm analysis, and data clustering.
