Peraton is seeking Experienced and Credentialed Independent Contractors for positions located nationwide to conduct federal background investigations in support of our Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) program.    Work is based at the Subject and Source’s offices, investigator’s personal vehicle, and at the investigator’s home office.  Coverage area varies and could include some extended driving time.  Work hours vary depending on availability of references and do not always fall within normal business hours, to include potential weekend hours.  As an independent contractor, pay is based on work tasks and activities performed. What You'll Do:  - Responsible for analysis of large datasets, in structured and unstructured formats. Peraton is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support NASA’s Sounding Rocket Operations Contract (NSROC), which is a sub-orbital space flight program located at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility (WFF), a part of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). Wallops Island, VA is a remote location.    NSROC provides suborbital launch vehicles, payload development and field operations support to NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. The program enables the collection of Earth, Heliophysics and Astrophysics science.   In this role, you will be the Telemetry Engineer for sounding rocket missions. The application will support system development throughout the entire mission life cycle including launch at remote sites. Travel is required; typical travel to the remote launch site lasts 6 to 8 weeks. The position will require an individual to be living locally to support efforts on base as well as ability to support required telework. You will work on a variety of projects, typically multiple at any one time, and will require an individual able to work individually and in a team environment.    As an Electrical Engineer, Telemetry, you will be responsible for the design, testing and field operations support related to sounding rocket telemetry systems. You will be involved in research, development, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, and systems; applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering. As a Non Destructive Evaluation Engineer, you will work within a government - contractor team performing structural testing on current naval and commercial platforms and experimental designs.   This is a full time onsite position in West Bethesda MD   What you will do: Responsible for performing on-site inspection of shipboard and model components using Non-Destructive Evaluation methods.  Testing and analysis shall be done IAW NAVSEA Technical Publication for Requirements for Nondestructive Testing Methods (T9074-AS-GIB-010/271) and MIL-STD 2035A Nondestructive Testing Acceptance Criteria.   Shall provide inspection procedures for each inspection and produce inspection records for each component inspected.

As a Naval Architecture and Structural Engineer you will work within a government - contractor team designing and testing current and next generation naval and commercial platforms   This is a full time onsite position in West Bethesda MD   What you will do:   Responsible for structural design, modification, and analysis of surface naval and commercial platforms, submarines, and undersea vehicles.  Analyses include design and assessment of primary and secondary ship structural members and components against primary and operational loads.  This includes analysis of both intact and structural components degraded by corrosion, pitting, cracking, deformations, and fabrication defects.  These analyses include hull assessments against ultimate strength, progressive collapse, and other secondary loadings.   Candidates will also perform buckling calculations to assess the stability of designs.  This position also reviews existing calculation packages to ensure that calculations are accurate, modeling assumptions are acceptable, and requirements are met.  Also responsible for evaluating the structural capacity of surface ship vehicle and flight decks relative to static, dynamic and thermal loads.  Requires the use of a range of methods including Finite Element Modeling, Finite Element Analysis, and Fracture Mechanics and fatigue crack growth analysis.
