Peraton has an opening for an Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team in Las Cruces, NM at the White Sands Complex (WSC).   Peraton’s Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract with NASA provides communications support for existing and upcoming science and human exploration missions and provides an opportunity to work on advanced space to ground communications.    Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico. Operating here are two functionally identical satellite ground terminals: The White Sands Ground Terminal, and the Second TDRSS Ground Terminal. These ground terminals ensure uninterrupted communications between various ground stations, NASA’s orbiting fleet of Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), customer spacecraft (satellites), and the computer systems that support such spacecraft. Our teammates on the program provide expert, onsite support in research and development of software designed to exploit vulnerabilities of adversary technology, algorithm development, script writing and software utility development, use of multiple programming languages, analysis and reverse engineering of source code, software integration and testing, technical writing and documentation, and lifecycle maintenance of software programs.   You will have the opportunity to: - Utilize your skills with techniques which include but are not limited to, pointer arithmetic, casting variables to or from structs or arrays, common C preprocessor directives, bit masking, bit shifting for powers of 2, event-driven or state-driven programming, error logging, and exception handling. - Perform TS/SCI software analysis, architecture, engineering, and integration services at the unit, module, and system levels.  - Perform all aspects of software engineering support required to implement Cyberspace Operations capabilities.  - Adhere to open standards and modern software development methodologies, including what is considered ‘best’ practices by Industry to the extent that operational requirements will allow.  - Provide technical reports, white papers and other documentation as required to documents findings of all software engineering service activities.
