Peraton Labs is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the U.S. Army at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The chosen candidate will gain experience in Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) system development, testing and analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
- RF engineering knowledge applied to Army technologies and programs
- Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) consultation and application

Role and responsibility for this position:
The Cyber Research Engineer will work on full-lifecycle advanced cyber capability development, starting with research prototype all the way through to eventual deployment of operational capabilities over a three-year period. You will be part of a large team of highly skilled engineers collaborating to develop, test, and field novel operational capabilities for the Department of Defense. Past experience with DARPA or the DoD/IC research community is a strong plus. You will perform one or more of the following tasks:
- Designing, developing, and testing software modules related to emerging embedded cyber capabilities, high-availability network protocols, cyber mission planning and reasoning systems, data analytics, processing and analysis of high-volume network data.
- Hardware and software reverse engineering activities against bespoke targets.
- Development of CI/CD-based testing strategies for developed software modules.
- Analysis and assessment of multi-dimensional network data to inform software development.

- Responsible for IT laboratory support, including design and building systems and services, writing scripts, testing, and deployment

In this position you will work with a small engineering team to develop target recognition algorithms for military applications. In this role you will utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to develop target recognition algorithms on both synthetic and real image data.
Responsibilities:
- Develop target recognition algorithms utilizing image processing techniques
- Develop advanced algorithms that exploit a variety of target signature phenomenology and processing techniques to find threats of interest and discard clutter
- Algorithms shall be extended to include additional, higher-fidelity target information such as velocity, orientation/aspect angle
- Train algorithms on both real world data and synthetic data generated from UnReal Engine or other 3D graphic toolsets.

In this position you will work with a small engineering team to develop, operate, maintain, and extend a synthetic data generation toolsuite for the purpose of developing target recognition algorithms. In this role you will use 3D graphic software that replicates military environments and renders various military assets in various optical spectrums.
