Peraton is seeking a mid-level Systems Engineer to join our team at the White Sands Complex (WSC) in Las Cruces, NM.  The successful candidate will be responsible for systems engineering activities associated with the development of NASA communications ground systems in support of new human spaceflight programs and initiatives and NASA science missions.   Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico. Operating here are two functionally identical satellite ground terminals: The White Sands Ground Terminal, and the Second TDRSS Ground Terminal. These ground terminals ensure uninterrupted communications between various ground stations, NASA’s orbiting fleet of Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), customer spacecraft (satellites), and the computer systems that support such spacecraft. WSC serves as an interface for distributing satellite data to control centers and scientists who then use the daily influx of data to expand our ever-growing knowledge of the Earth and the universe.   This position will be responsible for the following:  - Support of the Space Network mission, Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) constellation, and the NASA customer - Requirements development, tracking, and analysis - Assessment of hardware, network, and/or software system designs - Development of technical documentation including test procedures, test and status reports, procurement specifications, Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) - Development, coordination and presentation of Key Decision Point (KDP) Presentations (e.g., PDCR, SRR, CDR, SAR, ORR, etc.) - Test and integration of new hardware and/or software into existing operational and support systems - System analysis with emphasis on operational sustainability, risk, safety and security - Use of engineering methodologies and techniques to perform technical trades. - Proactively identifies technical problems during all project life phases. - Performs failure analysis, risk analysis and recommends changes to the state of health of applicable systems - Performs/drives trade off studies and recommends solutions based on technical merit, costs and schedule

Peraton is seeking a Wireless Engineer to join our innovative engineering team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will provide Wi-Fi networking, software, and hardware design, operation, and management in support of client initiatives and projects. This role is pivotal in driving our efforts in one or more phases of software systems development, systems integration, or network engineering critical to the USPS mission.   Required to be local to Raleigh, NC area.  May be required to travel to support business efforts.   Day to Day Work Responsibilities: - Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex wireless network issues escalated from Tier 2 engineers. - Provide guidance and mentorship to Tier 2 Wireless Engineers. - Collaborate with other IT teams for integrated wireless solutions. - Design, implement, and manage wireless network infrastructure projects. - Perform wireless network performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization. - Develop and maintain wireless network documentation and diagrams. - Mitigating vulnerabilities affecting hardware and software. - Cisco Prime Infrastructure (CPI) support. - Providing and implementing escalation process and or procedures as appropriate. - Submit LAN and switch acceptance as a backup to Tier 2, as necessary. - Perform duties in support of the mission as directed by USPS Management. - Working upgrades, to include weekends or off-duty hours, and may include travel as necessary.

Provides technical oversight of hardware and software systems, with a focus on storage area network administration. Provides professional service within the parameters specified in the site's service level agreement and/or that meet or exceed the customer requirements. Ensures reliable backup and recovery of necessary data.    Key Responsibilities: - Provide administration, operations, and maintenance support on storage subsystems. - Provide quality Tier 2 and Tier 3 Service Desk services for storage-related tickets, including responsively communicating with users, analyzing tickets to identify issues, developing proposed solutions, and resolving tickets. - Prepare, document, and maintain standard configurations of storage devices. - Performing storage monitoring, management, and optimization. - Collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 3 staff to ensure all Tier 2 and Tier 2 escalated incidents and service requests are resolved consistent with SLA requirements. - Maintain a knowledge base of FAQs for Tier 2 - Maintain the organization’s Distributed File System (DFS) servers. - Provide storage and data management for Cloud and on-premise storage subsystems. This includes the storage lifecycle including configuration, data at rest encryption, maintenance of disk and disk subsystems, compliance, security, capacity management, performance, utilization cost management, and reporting elements. - Monitor and manage storage components, identifying when storage capacity decreases below defined thresholds for the specific device, and take corrective actions (coordinate adding additional storage capacity). - Proactively monitor for a high availability configuration for critical applications and production servers supporting continued operation if either data center were lost. - Coordinate maintenance activities associated with server and storage platforms. This includes coordination with Contractor and third-party maintenance providers to troubleshoot server hardware, replace faulty device components, and provide on-site support, where appropriate. - Responsible for storage performance analysis and troubleshooting storage capacity management and planning.  *Contingent on Contract Award*
