    Peraton is seeking a progressive, forward leaning individual to lead its strategic sourcing procurement team. The Senior Manager for Strategic Sourcing will provide oversight and guidance that shapes our procurement vision and direction. Peraton has tremendous opportunities to leverage creativity, expertise, and technology in support of strategic supplier relationships, procurement initiatives, and new business growth as we strive to integrate people, process, technology, and culture.  The Strategic Sourcing Team partners with regional operations, business stakeholders, OEMs, and vendors to manage external supply solutions including supplier selection, deployment, and responsibility for maintaining and managing strategic supplier relationships across the Peraton organization. In addition, the Strategic Sourcing Team participates in the development of business plans for the various spend categories with a focus that encompasses spend analysis, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, risk mitigation, supplier relationship management, and best practices sharing.  Through developing a detailed knowledge and understanding of Peraton’s operations, the Strategic Sourcing Team supports key business decision makers in delivering seamless procurement value added solutions that are aligned with business partners and their objectives.  


    The successful candidate will be a hands-on, collaborative, and professional strategic thinker that is skilled in contract review, negotiations, executing strategic plans, and accomplishing business objectives. Must have deep experience in corporate level procurement that demonstrates technical and analytical skills and a track record of success working in a team-based environment. 


    • Ensures the highest ethical standards of good business practice
    • Manages subordinate management and/or experienced professionals who exercise significant latitude and independence.
    • Collaborating with executive leadership teams in defining organizational sourcing requirements.
    • Ensuring procurement programs, strategies, and procedures are appropriate and aligned with stakeholder priorities to satisfy business objectives.
    • Establishing and participating in the development of standards and metrics, practices and procedures, client satisfaction measurement, standardized processes and continuous improvement initiatives that achieve synergies, efficiency, and greater effectiveness.
    • Managing and executing strategic supplier management activities.
    • Maintaining, measuring and identifying cost savings, opportunity assessments and delivering fact-based value driven sourcing decisions.
    • Mitigating risk and exposures through audit and control processes, applying thoughtful analyses, and consideration of impacts and planning.
    • Developing, executing and adjusting quantitative and qualitative key performance indicators (KPIs) to promote greater customer service, efficiency, and operational excellence.
    • Working with stakeholders and vendors to manage and minimize contract leakage.
    • Provides subject matter expertise for the interpretation and application of procurement rules and regulations
    • Mentors geographically dispersed team of experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments
    • Participates in cross functional projects to support business objectives
    • Other duties as assigned



    • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent), and at least 12 years of experience working in procurement, supply chain, and material management.
    • At least 5 years in procurement management with oversight of large Government agreements.
    • Excellent contract review and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to clearly articulate point of view verbally and in writing.
    • Proven ability to execute and manage corporate level master service agreements.
    • Hands-on knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies, category management processes, negotiation principles, and procurement fundamentals, principles, theories and processes.
    • An advanced level of collaboration, influencing and consulting skills at all levels of an organization along with the ability to effect strategic direction at the executive level.
    • Knowledge of business models and trends in the IT supply markets.
    • Proven ability to identify and evaluate opportunities to appropriately in-source, out-source or co-source activities, emphasizing value-added activities and minimizing non-value-added activities.
    • Experience working in a DCMA-approved purchasing system environment.
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and refined time management skills.
    • Critical thinker who questions status quo and drives compliance through progressive methods.
    • Desire and motivation to stay on top of emerging trends in industry and government.
    • Must be able and willing to travel periodically to support initiatives.

    • An advanced degree, such as an MBA, and/or applicable specialized training/certifications (CFCM, CPCM, CCCM, etc.) is a plus.
