  • Overview

    Peraton Canada is seeking a Project Manager that will be responsible for leading and managing multiple aircraft integration projects on the RCAF CF-18 fighter aircraft fleet.  These projects will involve several stakeholders including the RCAF, government of Canada and a broad base of industry partners. The successful candidate will coordinate and oversee the implementation of the specified technical and airworthiness requirements.  An essential element of the project plan will be meeting the quality expectations of the customer and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.  The Project Manager will be expected to motivate the whole project team to deliver the agreed scope within the allocated time and budget parameters.  This position, located in our Calgary, Alberta facility reports directly to the Peraton Senior Programs Manager.


    • Execute complex, defense-related acquisition
    • Organize, coordinate and direct the project activities
    • Set up and operate the governance for the project
    • Direct, motivate and provide leadership for the entire project team
    • Manage relationships with key stakeholders in government and industry
    • Ensure effective and open communication throughout the project team and with all stakeholders
    • Lead the project team planning efforts and resolve resource conflicts across concurrent projects
    • Prepare and deliver project status reports across all projects making best use of available resources
    • Integrate the outputs from the projects turning the capabilities into the required outcomes for the stakeholders
    • Deliver Project to agreed time, cost, quality and benefits parameters
    • Travel, 10 – 20%


    Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Completed Bachelor of Engineering degree
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing aircraft integration projects and/or programs
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing $1M - $10M projects and/or programs.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Project Management practices including work breakdown structure, scheduling, resource management, risk management, cost account management, cost estimating, and planning


    Preferred Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Completed a Master of Engineering degree or business discipline
    • PMI/PMP Certification
    • Experience in electronic systems integration
    • Experience with the Canadian Military on aircraft integration projects
    • Proven success of on-time/on-budget project delivery

    • Wide ranging state-of-the-art knowledge, with experience in a multitude of engineering & scientific disciplines
    • Ability to analyze broad system requirements and identify interdependencies
    • Ability to originate innovative concepts, methods, & techniques
    • Current knowledge of engineering technology & standards
    • Ability to develop conceptual design approaches with appropriate measures of performance & verification/validation
    • Understanding of interactions with other technical disciplines, including Research, Development, Test and Evaluation and Logistics
    • Ability to develop project schedules and resource estimates
    • Ability to plan, organize, & coordinate work of multi-disciplined technical teams
    • Bilingual in English and French considered an asset

    All successful applicants must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Canadian Government Industrial Security Clearance.
