  • Overview

    Provides deployment, installation, training support on Consular computer systems, hardware & software on-site for designated customer and staff members. Position covers a variety of contract coordination management tasks for staff and end users. Provides systems maintenance support including troubleshooting, problem analyses and assessments for hardware and software systems and assigned projects. Assures proper, clear, concise and complete guidance for ensuring successful deployment of teams to perform deployment and training.

     

    The Systems Deployment Specialist will work independently and within the Coordination team to support various software and systems related trip tasks.  The individual will be expected to support communications and outreach, staffing and scheduling, and ensure all logistical aspects of contract deployments are fulfilled. In depth knowledge of the process and procedures for scheduling and executing deployment and training trips are key for efficient operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan, schedule, staff and execute all requirements of deployment visits to Consular sites worldwide for hardware refresh or application refresher training activities.
    • Communicate effectively with the contract client and with customer sites via conference calls and email communications
    • Provide various reports and metrics regarding contract deployment activities
    • Document and update process and procedures for coordination of deployment planning activities
    • Manage and organize Share-Point and network share document libraries
    • Draw upon deployment experience to contribute in process improvement of current policies and procedures for contract performance innovation and modernization

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

     

    • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training, with 5+ years of experience in installation, training and support on computer systems, hardware and software. Experience may be substituted for educational requirements, and education may be substituted for years of experience.
    • Knowledge and experience with performing deployment trips for government contracting requirements
    • Experience with workstation deployment (installation/configuration) and OS migration
    • Experience in delivering technical training to end users on software applications and hardware support in a classroom and/or one-on-one setting
    • Experience with developing training documentation (lesson plans, procedures, reports, etc.)
    • Experience with logistical planning and strategy for worldwide deployments following government contract guidelines
    • Strong communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to interact with a user base that encompasses widely varied cultures
    • ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE

    PREFERRED:

    State Department experience preferred

     

    Local travel may be required for client meetings.  Travel will be to State Department and vendor/contractor facilities in the Washington DC area.
