This role is responsible for providing second or third tier technical support to internal company employees or external customers for desktop systems software, hardware and network infrastructure. Responds to situations where first-line technical support is unable to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software. Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers and network issues. Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment. Communicates technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades. Participates in development of information technology and infrastructure projects. Conducts research on information technology trends that help facilitate employee productivity.
