  • Overview

    Peraton is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support our customer at the Naval Research Lab (NRL) in Washington, DC.

    This position will be responsible for providing configuration, administration, security and troubleshooting/brainstorming for unique computing and storage solutions for a heterogeneous environment including Linux (Centos and Ubuntu) servers, PCs, and Mac OS X systems. 


    • Writing and debugging skills in bash bourne shell scripts
    • Writing and debugging in Perl or Python
    • Coding and debugging in C
    • Writing scripts/programs to automate system administration tasks
    • Debugging and writing of policies
    • Linux performance tuning



    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Networks, Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines from an accredited institution plus five (05) years of relevant experience. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Experience Installing new/rebuild existing servers and workstations, configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
    • Experience providing Tier III support; investigating and troubleshooting issues
    • Experience Creating, changing, and deleting user account
    • Security+ Certification 


    • This position requires the candidate to already have a current Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance, (TS/SCI is preferred).
