  • Overview

    We are seeking a HVAC Design Engineer in Monrovia, CA to support our Deep Space Network (DSN) Operations and Maintenance O&M contract with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and NASA.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee and perform all aspects of design, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation of HVAC equipment.
    • Will be responsible for  MCC Electrical installation, troubleshooting, Air Balancing (includes V.A.V. systems), Air Cooled Screw and Piston Chillers, Compressed Air Systems, Open Air Closed Loop Evaporative Cooling Towers, Split Systems, Pumps, Air Handlers, Packaged Boiler units, humidification Systems, may troubleshoot equipment utilizing mechanical drawings and electronic schematics, Collect and provide analysis of technical data, and generate reports as required.
    • Collaborate other departments as necessary to meet customer requirements.
    • Perform monthly HVAC safety inspections of assigned buildings.
    • Candidate will be expected to perform effectively under aggressive deadlines.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, MS is highly desirable.
    • 5+ years of verifiable direct Facility HVAC design and field experience.
    • CA Professional Engineer Certification.
    • Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and working knowledge of latest Windows operating system.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Certified Energy Manager
    • Proven capability of working with minimal supervision.
    • Project Manager Professional Certification
    • LEED Certification
    • Affiliation with ASHRAE is desirable
    • ALC and Carrier system and control experience is highly desirable
    • Experience interfacing successfully across various departmental levels
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Capacity to adapt to change quickly
    • Analytical skills
    • Detailed Oriented
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills

     

    SECURITY CLEARANCE:

    This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a trusted background check and pass a National Criminal Information Check (NCIC).  In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
