    We are seeking a  Patient Care Coordinator in Bethesda, MD to support our National Institutes of Health, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, DIR, customer.


    Peraton has an immediate need for a Patient Care Coordinator (Clinical Data Manager). In this role, the successful candidate will provide administrative support to the clinical research personnel from project start-up and planning to project execution and project closeout on several projects. You will independently perform patient care coordination tasks on all projects you are responsible for:

    • Assist with scheduling of the patients’ diagnostic and treatment appointments, tests and procedures
    • Provide support to clinical teams with clinic activities preparation and conduct
    • Attend weekly clinic planning meeting and send out weekly clinic schedule to appropriate staff involved with patient care.
    • Assist in development of the documentation packages for patients and distribute the packages to the patients
    • Communicate with outside hospitals assisting clinical team in processing patient medical documentation
    • Schedule foreign language and sign interpretation services.
    • Assist each eligible patient and their family member/significant other with completion of
    • an extended visitor’s pass and direct them to the NIH Clinical Center badging station.
    • Assist the research team with scheduled patient admission and payments for travel/lodging
    • Arrange for lodging as appropriate, in coordination with social work department
    • Serve as liaison between clinical team and other NIH departments
    • Maintain a current electronic tracking system and supportive documentation for all communications
    • Assist research staff with monitoring/audit preparation and perform additional duties as directed by the research team




    • BS/BA in health-related field
    • Minimum of 2 years of medical, clinical, or research related study or instruction. 4 plus years’ experience can be substituted for education
    • Certifications preferred: CCRP certification
    • Clearance required: none



    • MS in health-related field, and 2+ years experience
    • Experience in cardio-vascular, pulmonary, hematology clinical research preferred
    • Clinical and/or data management certification (e.g., CCRP) highly desirable
    • Strong communication skills
    • Excellent teamwork
