    Technology is constantly changing and our adversaries are digitally “going dark” at a rate that is exceeding law enforcement’s ability to keep pace. Those charged with protecting the United States are not always able to access the evidence needed to prosecute crime and prevent terrorism. The Government has trusted in Peraton to provide the technical ability, tools, and resources to bring criminals to justice.

     

    In response to this challenge, these employees provide proven, industry leading information security, software, hardware, networks, systems, forensics, reverse engineers, and systems engineering to our law enforcement customer. This position is for a customer focused, mission driven, Cyber Engineer with a focus on networking. This engineer will have hands on experience in multiple Information Technology platforms and possess a “can do” attitude.

     

    The chosen candidate will provide core technical leadership to the architecture, installation and planning of a variety of solutions across multiple networks. The candidate will also provide support for designing and the integration of various components of technology, including development of recommendations for new technologies, as appropriate.

    Responsibilities

    • Architects and leads the setup, configuration, and support of internal and/or external networks.
    • Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
    • Troubleshoots network performance issues, creates and maintains network diagrams and documentation.
    • Recommends upgrades for new applications and equipment.
    • Architect and maintain LAN/WAN technologies, routing and switching platforms, troubleshooting critical issues, and coordination of implementation.
    • Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
    • Configures multiple VPN’s and Firewalls

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • BS degree, with eight (08)  years of relevant experience. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
    • Expert knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
    • Expert knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio
    • Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly
    • Experience deploying and managing firewalls (Palo Alto and/or Cisco ASA
    • Experience decompiling and compiling code; proficient with at least one programming language, with the ability to make updates to existing code and/or modify to meet a specific customer need.

    • Experience with Systems Engineering with a concentration in Linux OS’s.

    PREFERRED: 

    • Experience with administration of Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems (Windows 7/10, Windows Server 2008/2012, RHEL 5/6)
    • Experience with toolsets such as NetScout, Wireshark, Omnipeek, SolarWinds
    • Experience with virtualization solutions such as VMWa
    • Experience with COMSEC and encryption devices such as TACLANEs
    • CCNP, CISSP certifications
    • Participation in the Cyber Security community with attendance to Black Hat or DEF CON

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: 

    *This position requires the candidate to have a current Top Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain a polygraph.  Candidate must possess SCI eligibility.
