    Peraton is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect in Herndon, VA.

    • Work alongside management, technical staff and customers to devise technical solutions in support of customer needs.
    • Drive innovation through support of capture management and proposal development activities
    • Apply knowledge of architecture and design patterns to develop the most effective solutions for customer needs
    • Design and architect scalable, distributed, cloud-based and service-based solutions that integrate across different technologies
    • Work collaboratively to identify the objectives and provide a breakdown of responsibilities, deliverables, phases and timelines to complete the delivery of the project in a timely and effective manner.
    • Identify and provide recommendations for the acceptance or mitigation of any issues and risks associated with requirements, proposed systems, solutions, development, designs, plans and timelines. Provide support for determination of the level of effort.
    • Analyze existing solutions and architectures and provide recommendations for improvement with respect to quality, performance and innovation
    • Conduct evaluation of new technology platforms and components, prototyping solutions where applicable to improve business requirements understanding and validation
    • Provide guidance to software and systems engineering team and mentor junior members of the team
    • Provide technical oversight and guidance throughout the program execution lifecycle from initial planning and design to implementation and operational transition
    • Serve as a technical expert and liaison with the customer, systems engineering and development teams, and program managers to drive consensus on solution approach, while assisting in execution of deliverables



    • US Citizen with an ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field of study and 10 + years of related experience 
    • 12+ years of experience in software and systems development, design and architecture
    • 12+ years of experience in working with software and hardware solutions used within large enterprises
    • 5+ years of experience in customer-facing roles and proposal development support roles
    • Demonstrated experience in working with Agile teams and within Agile/DevOps environments to deliver on time and on target solutions
    • Diverse technical experience to include knowledge of architecture patterns, cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS, Azure), security-related best practices, and Agile/DevOps best practices (e.g., U.S. Digital Services Playbook, etc.)
    • Strong knowledge of web-related technologies and architectures, to include microservice based architectures and service oriented architectures (SOA)
    • Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, etc.
    • Experience with open source software platforms and tools
    • Experience with test and deployment automation, performance tuning



    • Experience in Federal Government Marketplace
    • Active Secret / Top Secret Level Clearance
    • Experience with predictive data analysis software and tools
    • Experience with IOT technology stack
    • Experience with principles of User/Human Factors (UX/UI) design and development
