    Peraton is seeking a proven professional for the role of Sr. Director of Policy and Strategy for national security and civil space.

That’s why we’re here, why we are growing, and why we are adding to our team. We are looking for an individual who has substantial experience in a policy environment.  Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the position offers opportunity for significant leadership, both internally and externally.  This role is expected to lead on a wide variety of work such as policy, strategy, and relationship management supporting all facets of Peraton’s space business.  The selected candidate is integral to establishing trusted relationships between Peraton personnel and their peers throughout industry and government. 


    The position is based in Herndon, VA.  Some travel may be required as needed.



    A qualified candidate will have: 

    • Demonstrated a successful and track record of supporting the NRO and USAF
    • Significant understanding of the current challenges and opportunities associated with space superiority, space traffic management, and integrating air, space, and cyber in joint campaigns
    • Developed and mature key relationships within the customer’s organizations
    • Ability to operate independently but still retain an enterprise focus


    • Manage complex functional activities
    • Leading and supporting decisions that will have a major impact on business operations throughout the company
    • Develop long-range objectives and strategic plans by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability
    • Perform overall planning for the Company's activities within lines of responsibility to develop and promote the organization's vision
    • Interface with customer community and building customer relationships through effective communications, both with internal and external customer bases
    • Drives the execution of strategic and corporate development initiatives
    • Develop strategies to "shape" requirements and acquisition strategy
    • Prepare acquisition proposals, recommend financial and nonfinancial strategic objectives and alternatives, and implement and maintain strategic and operational plans
    • Identify and target new markets, adjacencies, and partnerships



    • Bachelors degree and 16+ years related work experience in related field
    • Active security clearance (see below)
    • Current understanding of client’s needs in order to align Peraton strengths and core values.
    • Must demonstrate high energy, integrity, strong business acumen, professionalism and commitment.
    • Highly effective communicator to all levels within the company and with clients.


    • Prior experience working directly for DoD, NRO or other IC agencies
    • Master’s degree in a related field of study

    Candidate must have a current and active TS/SCI with current SSBI
