We are seeking an Unmanned Surface Vehicle Operator to integrate into a small team charged with operations and maintenance of deployed unmanned systems in support of US Navy mine countermeasures (MCM) missions in the U.S. Fifth Fleet Area of Responsibility.
Position is home ported in Bahrain. Paid travel and pre-deployment training will be conducted at various US locations, but primarily in Panama City, FL for approximately 60 days prior to deploying to Bahrain. Position requires a one-year minimum deployment to Bahrain.
Assigned unit mission tasking will support data collection, test and evaluation of prototype equipment, and analysis for mine countermeasures objectives in various harbor areas, littorals and shipping lanes.
The small craft that is employed is an 11 meter RHIB that is commanded remotely by the USV Operator. The 11 RHIB is equipped with Launch and Recovery (L&R) hardware that will also require daily maintenance and repairs.
Responsibilities will include coordination with a repair facility for major repairs and ordering and receipt of required parts and supplies as required for boat, trailer and L&R equipment. Assigned unit mission tasking will support data collection, test and evaluation of prototype equipment, and analysis for objectives in various harbor areas, littorals and shipping lanes. Operations will be conducted from small boats deployed from shore, embarked on various Navy Units Afloat and/or from Forward Operating bases. Candidates are also expected to qualify in secondary roles within the team upon arriving OCONUS.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: This position requires the candidate to already have a current Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance.
