  • Overview

    We are seeking a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) /Package Design Engineer to support our high profile customer.

    Responsibilities

    This position will be responsible for the following:

    • Developing unique solutions for advanced microelectronic packaging and printed circuit board design requirements
    • Performing standard package selection and engineering, custom package design, configuration management of design documentation, and the support of manufacturing through the package verification and product qualification phases.
    • Researching and the adaption of new packaging techniques
    • Generating digital, RF, space, or mixed signal design PCB / package schematics and layouts in Cadence
    • Generating fabrication and assembly drawings in Downstream BluePrint or Autodesk Inventor
    • Generating thermal and electrical modeling in Sigrity
    • Working with vendors on PCB / package production and procurement
    • Provide engineering project support including planning, specification development, project budgets, status updates, meeting facilitation, purchasing, and schedules.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate technical discipline, e.g., Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Materials or Microelectronic Engineering, Chemistry or Physics and
    • 2 years of experience in the field or a degree in Microelectronic Engineering or a Masters or PhD in one of the areas cited above.
    • Be proficient in the use of design and assembly software for the generation of schematics, layouts and assemblies of PCB and package designs
    • Be capable of solving complex microelectronic packaging or system level design challenges
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
    • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
    • Ability to write effective scopes of work for bid packages to compliment Statement of Work.

    PREFERRED:

    • Master’s Degree in an appropriate technical discipline, e.g., Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Materials or Microelectronic Engineering, Chemistry or Physics
    • Experience with Electronic packaging and/or Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design
    • Experience with wide variety of part types and assembly techniques to include Multi-Chip Modules, plastic components, ceramic/mil-spec, BT/FR-4, and flip chip package design
    • Ceramic and Plastic package design
    • Ability to research and adapt new packaging techniques
    • CID / CID++

    SECURITY CLEARANCE:

    This position requires the candidate to have a current TS/SCI with Polygraph and to maintain the clearance.
