  • Overview

    Peraton is seeking talented, experienced Information Systems Security professionals to join the Range Instrumentation Support (RIS) team in Huntsville, Alabama.

     

     

    This is a Mid-Level Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) position that is staffed at the Peraton office in Cummins Research Park. 

    Responsibilities

    Specific duties will include: 

    • Serve as appointed ISSO for one or more Risk Management Framework (RMF) accredited enclaves/networks.
    • Vulnerability scanning and remediation.
    • Certification and accreditation.
    • Deploy, implement and strategically plan support of tools and related network security management systems. (ACAS, HBSS, WSUS, Active Directory, RSA, etc.)
    • Regularly report status of security team projects to management and customers.
    • Process definition and assurance for network security functions, ensuring configuration documents for deployed security solutions remain current and complete.
    • Support incident investigation.
    • Position may require approximately 25% travel with some durations as long as three weeks.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • BS/BA in Information Security, Computer Science or related technical or engineering field, and a minimum of 5+ years of related work experience, with specific experience in the following targeted areas:
      • 2+ years of experience supporting the certification and accreditation of information systems within the Risk Management Framework. (eMASS experience required)
      • 2+ years of experience executing configuration control processes within a security engineering discipline.
      • 3+ years of experience managing a complex security architecture consisting of multiple trust levels.
      • 3+ years in a security engineer capacity for interconnected DoD accredited systems.
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification

    Preferred: 

    • Earned computing environment certifications such as CCNA, Linux+, Windows 7/10, Windows Server 2012/2016, ACAS, HBSS.
    • Understanding of Security networking equipment, including IDS/IPS, Antivirus, AAA, Firewall, Security Gateway, VPN appliances, and/or SIEM architectures.
    • Demonstrable competence securing both Linux and Windows Operating Systems (particularly Windows 10 SHB)
    • Demonstrable competence securing enterprise services, routers, switches, firewalls, and access control solutions.
    • Understanding of cyber-attack vectors (Buffer Overflow, Phishing, etc.)
    • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as working in groups
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Able to mentor teammates and support customers in presentation and/or briefing environments.
    • Strong listening skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.
    • The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward.

    Security Clearance: This position requires the candidate to already have a current active Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance.
