    We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer also known as the Maintenance and Training Facility Lead, to join our team at White Sands Complex in Las Cruces, NM. The Senior Software Engineer will support

    the SGSS Project in oversight of the projects implementation contractor’s design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and installation activities related to the Maintenance and Training Facility (MTF) and any associated system requirements.



    The Maintenance and Training Facility (MTF) in SGSS provides independent environments for maintenance, testing, and training capabilities as well as the tools and equipment for analyzing and resolving failures. MTF is used for managing system configuration as well as hardware and software builds and updates. MTF also includes the TDRS and Ground Segment simulators.


    Additional job responsibilities include:


    • Monitor the Implementation Contractor’s (IC’s) plans, schedules, and status associated with the MTF Element, and provide input to the SGSS Project regarding the IC’s performance against those plans and schedules.
    • Elevate the IC’s plans and designs, ensuring the element design meets the intent of system-level requirements associated with that element and its use in the operational environment.
    • Support the efforts by the IC on verification of MTF requirements, providing clarification on system requirements as needed. Ensure the lower level requirements comply with the intent of the Level 3 requirements.
    • Review discrepancy reports, and monitor progress of discrepancy resolutions as they relate to the MTF.
    • Support MTF related engineering analyses and trade studies.
    • Participate in various engineering peer reviews, system reviews, regularly scheduled and ad-hoc Technical Interchange Meetings.
    • Review MTF test plans, procedures, and reports for unit, subsystem, and element level I&T.
    • Support reviews of MTF related CDRL and non-CDRL documents as a subject matter expert.
    • Lead will support system engineering team in requirements, interface, and test tracking related to MTF.
    • Assist the Deployment and Transition team on activities related to the MTF.
    • Witness element and system level test activities at IC and operational sites.
    • Participate in Monthly / Quarterly Project Status Reviews.




    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, System Engineering or Aerospace and 10+ years of relevant work experience.
    • 2+ years’ experience in a position of responsibility for design and development projects. 



    • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems or Aerospace Engineering.
    • Experience in both government and industry preferred.
    • Experience with TDRSS Operations.
    • Demonstrated record of successful project completion.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers, upper-level management and the NASA customer Experience with NASA or Government development processes.  




    This position requires the candidate to have an active SECRET security clearance.
