  • Overview

    The Site Manager will be in support of our mission critical customer in Fort Buckner, Japan. The selected candidate will provide U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command (USASMDC/ARSTRAT) support for the warfighter.

    Responsibilities

    The Site Manager will provide site management and leadership for all contractor personnel and contractor-maintained equipment at the WSOC located at Fort Buckner, Japan. They will provide satellite communications/ telecommunications support to deliver SATCOM capabilities. Other duties include: 

     

    • Manage the contractor workforce and inform client and contractor leadership on project activities, accomplishments, and taskings
    • Plan, organize, direct, control, and report the activities of personnel providing various technical services to the 53rd Signal Battalion, including, but not limited to, WGS and DSCS Operations and Maintenance (O&M), Information Technology, Networking, Supply Management, and Operator Training and Certification to support military personnel in SATCOM bandwidth planning and payload execution
    • Supervise and assist with 24/7/365 on-site and on-call O&M technical support of the Wideband SATCOM Operations Center (WSOC), including payload control operations, SATCOM transmission control and link performance.
    • Manage and support contractor personnel in executing VTC, SIPR, NIPR, WAN/LAN, software patches, and network administration of the WSOMS network
    • Manage site operations, technical assistance, and training, including fault diagnostics, information technology, and repair of systems and equipment
    • Supervise and provide technical and engineering support, supply management support, and maintenance, repair and overhaul support
    • Ensure equipment and services meet mission requirements. Perform IT and other functions as required
    • Ensure all work under this contract complies with all regulations, policies, and procedures
    • Directs, monitors, and reviews all contract performance on site
    • Ensures quality, performance, implementation, testing, and recommendations for improvement, test, analysis, and reporting compliance

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s Degree with at least five years experience managing government programs; In cases where an applicant does not have a degree, an additional two (2) years of experience is required;
    • Minimum of six to ten years of relevant working experience;
    • Understanding of WSOC and the Regional SATCOM Support Center (RSSC). Previous or current experience working within these centers preferred;
    • Relevant and recent experience, knowledge, and understanding of the Wideband and commercial SATCOM system of systems
    • Effective interpersonal and team-building skills, to engage at both the engineer and management levels to build confidence and collaboration; and
    • Must be a US Citizen and have a current TS/SCI clearance.
