  • Overview

    We are seeking a Lead Systems Test Engineer to support of the for Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Simulators in Greenbelt, MD for our support of the Omnibus Multidiscipline Engineering Services II (OMES-II) contract with NASA at Peraton.

    Responsibilities

    • Produce and maintain all testing documentation (plans, procedures and validation reports, etc.)
    • Lead tasks, such as:
      • Execution of tests, interpret test results, document test defects, and work cooperatively with software developers to ensure timely problem resolution
      • Post-test analysis and system requirement verification
    • Identification of test strategies, point-to-point analysis and collection of artifacts to assist in post-test analysis and system requirement verification
    • Maintain configuration control of all test items.
    • Coordinate the testing across various vendors and system component development team for interfaces integration and testing
    • Identify, develop, test and deliver test data and analysis tools prior to the execution of tests
    • Participate in project reviews such as Critical Design Review and lead the FSE Test Readiness Review
    • Establish and maintain close interaction with all stake holders in the project including developers, product management, customers and operations to assist in resolution of data anomalies

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:  

    • Bachelor of Science degree and 10+ years of experience in engineering, computer science or mathematics or a related field.
    • 5 + years of experience with software development lifecycle, data flow and bottlenecks.
    • 3+ years of experience with system level integration and testing of space and ground systems including:
      • Test scenario design and development
      • Complex test scenario planning and coordination
      • Execution and reporting in an operational or near-operational environment
      • Supporting trouble shooting and resolution of issues found during test events and/or operations of the simulators.
    • 3 + years of experience and working knowledge of space flight simulators and ground systems.
    • 3+ years of experience in the analysis and interpretation of complex test data artifacts and performance measurements during execution and following the completion of each test event.
    • 3+ years of experience in testing, using an analytical and systematic approach to data analysis and performance characterization
    • Ability to lead others in the test and requirement verification efforts
    • 2+ years of experience using systems such as: Unix/Linux, JAVA, STOL like language

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Experience and working knowledge of space flight simulators and ground systems in support of NASA projects
    • Knowledge of space data handling standards, including Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) and Space Link Extension (SLE)
    • Excellent communication, organizational, time management and team skills mandatory.
    • Good interpersonal and sound written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently, but can also work well in a collaborative environment.
