    We are seeking a talented, experienced Network Engineering professional to join the Range Instrumentation Support (RIS) team at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado.  


    This is a Senior Network Engineer position that is staffed at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC).  The successful candidate will have the responsibility for developing, troubleshooting, and integrating network architectures to meet mission requirements.  Specific duties will include: 

    • Develop deployed communications architectures to meet dynamic mission requirements across multiple ranges.
    • Responsible for the engineering design, installation maintenance and repair of deployable communications sites.
    • Work with Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) to establish communications paths per mission requirements.
    • Routing of data with type 1 encryption between various ranges and sites.
    • Configure and secure enterprise services, routers, switches, firewalls, and access control solutions.
    • Demonstrate expert understanding of routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP along with QOS, VPNs, and Spanning Tree Protocol.
    • Interface with analog voice communications systems across multiple locations.
    • Maintain and update system with patches to comply with Risk Management Framework (RMF) Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) requirements.
    • Configure voice systems such as Clear-Com and Compunetix.
    • Support systems administrators on other standalone systems to improve their network architecture.
    • Develop system documentation to include but not limited to standard operating procedures, network drawings, etc.
    • Administer systems running Windows and Linux operating systems.
    • Support design reviews of mission architecture with Government customers
    • Position could require between 25% and 50% travel with some duration between two (2) to four (4) weeks.
    • Regularly report status of projects to management and customers.



    • BS/BA in Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related technical field
    • Valid Security+ certification or higher
    • Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate certification or higher
    • 8+ years of general work experience designing, developing and implementing network architecture.
    • 7+ years of experience in configuring and troubleshooting routers and switches and associated network protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, Rapid PVST.
    • 7+ years of experience in supporting network security hardware and solutions like Cisco ASA firewalls, IPSEC, Access Control List (ACL), Network Address Translation (NAT).
    • Experience with network analysis tools such as Solarwinds and WhatsUpGold.
    • Experience with Visio.


    • Demonstrated competence securing routers, switches, firewalls, and access control solutions to meet Cybersecurity requirements.
    • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to mentor teammates and support customers in presentation and/or briefing environments.
    • Strong listening skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.
    • The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: This position requires the candidate to already have a current Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance.
