  • Overview

    Peraton is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator in Fairfax, VA to support our mission critical customer.


    • Serve as the administrator of server hardware and operating systems; monitor, report, and resolve system problems; propose policies and procedures relating to systems administration, security, and data storage; and assist in the implementation of such policies and procedures.
    • Manage trouble-ticketing system ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
    • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch operating systems, network operating systems, system utility software, applications, and third party software on commonly used operating systems.
    • Configure, and maintain virtual server environment.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for servers.
    • Create and maintain scripts for the automation of server processes.
    • Maintain updated local documentation on all aspects of servers and other equipment.
    • Maintain policies, procedures and tools.



    • Bachelor’s degree in related area or additional commensurate experience
    • 5 to 8 years of experience with Linux OS
    • 5 to 8 years of experience in an operations role.
    • 3 to 5 years of patching servers, Backups, permission management.
    • Top Secret security clearance is required.
    • RHCSA or RHCA certification required


    • This position requires the candidate to already have a current Top Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance.
