    Peraton is expanding its presence across the Space enterprise bringing advanced concepts, space and cyber solutions, enterprise systems and services delivery, and integrated operations to advance our customers’ missions and solve their most daunting challenges.  We are seeking a senior leader with deep understanding of the Air Force space community, ability to connect mission needs with technical solutions, an entrepreneurial talent focused on business growth, and extensive skills as a senior Program Manager to be applied across the Peraton Space portfolio with initial emphasis on the Engineering Development Integration Sustainment (EDIS) acquisition.

     

    Individual will be responsible for expanding customer engagement and providing program execution including revenue, profit, budgetary planning and forecasting, setting strategy and growth for our Advanced Space Systems efforts.  Individual will provide direct program management, leadership, and oversight of the EDIS Program.

     

    This position will be located in Albuquerque, NM with travel required.

    Responsibilities

    • Executes and directs the EDIS program within the scope, goals, milestones and deliverables in support of business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Determines work schedules, set priorities and ensures all processes and procedures are performed in support of work activities. Directs and monitors work performance in order to meet/exceed customer requirements. Ensures work performed meets cost, schedule, performance and quality requirements.
    • Proactively manage changes in scope, implement processes to quickly and effectively respond to task orders, identify potential risks, devise contingency plans, and communicates success criteria.
    • Directs the work activities of subordinate employees and subcontractors. Conducts performance reviews/appraisals, approves vacation and sick leave usage. Resolves performance issues and takes necessary corrective action, as required.
    • Establishes and oversees subcontractor relationships in the performance of EDIS program.
    • Maintains and promotes collaborative customer relationships. Coordinates work tasks with customer representatives. Keeps customer informed on status and progress of assigned tasks. Coordinates program reviews and directs the preparation of status and progress reports. Provides periodic (weekly, monthly, annual) reporting to supervisor, as required.
    • Participates in developing new business opportunities. Supports development of marketing plans and proposal preparation. Defines work statements, staffing requirements and cost analysis for bids. The scope of this activity can range from task order proposal responses on existing contracts, to major bids on new efforts across the Peraton Space portfolio.
    • Establishes and monitors financial controls to adhere to program budgets. Maintains program cost estimates and accounting records. Monitors budget expenditures and supports the preparation of budget plans and justifications. Participates in make/buy decisions and coordinates the selection of subcontractors. Keeps upper management informed regarding program status.
    • Represents Company at various customer or sponsor meetings. Provides Company interface to space and defense community. Previous experience working with US Air Force’s Space & Missile Systems Center (SMC) organizations, US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), US Air Force Research Labs, US Army Strategic Command (STRATCOM), and US Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) operational units and headquarters.
    • Performs other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree
    • Master’s degree in business, engineering, cyber, or STEM area.
    • 15 or more years defense industry experience with emphasis in the Air Force Space community
    • 5 years’ experience within the Albuquerque, NM Defense community
    • Air Force, Joint Services, and/or NRO experience
    • Active Secret or higher level security clearance
    • Individual must have excellent management, communication, organizational, and motivational skills
    • Impeccable reputation for technical excellence, leadership vision, customer partnership, agility, and business growth.
    • Must be able to multi-task
    • Ability to meet short deadlines
    • Proficient with MS Office suite
    • Notable travel required (up to 20%)

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Twenty or more years defense industry experience
    • Previous experience with US Air Force Space & Missile Systems Center (SMC), US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), US Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC), US Air Force Space Command (AFSPC)
    • Current PMP certification
    • Knowledge of SEI CMMI DEV 1.3 Level 3 processes
    • Experience with Leading large integration, operations, maintenance and/or sustainment efforts
    • Excellent business development and proposal knowledge/experience highly desired
    • Experience working with geographically separated unit locations 

     

    SECURITY CLEARANCE:

    Must already have a current/active DoD Secret security clearance with ability to meet TS/SCI requirement. An active TS/SCI security clearance is highly desired.
