    We are seeking an Aviation Data Management Analyst in Lexington Park, Maryland to support our NAVAIR Logistics Product Data customer.




    Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) guidance to the NAVAIR Technical Data Package Life-Cycle Managers (TDP LCMs) supporting NAVAIR weapon systems acquisition programs.  The incumbent provides subject matter expert support in TDP acquisition, sustainment, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process development, policy, and infrastructure. Scope includes both legacy 2D and 3D model-based TDP products:  2D Engineering drawings and associated lists, 3D model based definition (MBD) product and manufacturing data, and configuration management elements and integration within and across the environments of data users. 

    Additional Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Perform analysis of program lifecycle requirements and intended operational environment and determine/recommend best approach and/or alternatives as they relate to 2D and 3D Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) data, including Model Based Definition/Engineering (MBD/E), CAD/Computer-aided Manufacturing (CAM) and Computer–aided Engineering (CAE) interface requirements for production.
    • Provide guidance to program office representatives in TDP acquisition planning, lifecycle management planning to include sustainment, storage, distribution of 2D engineering drawings, solid models, CAD/CAM/CAE files, including integration of CAD/CAM/CAE and Computer Numeric Code (CNC) data for organic support. 
    • As a system progresses through the acquisition life cycle to the production and deployment phases, assess and guide program offices in the management and sustainment of TDP products and processes, providing troubleshooting and problem solving guidance.Apply analytical and technical skills and thorough knowledge of current and emerging product data management products, processes, technologies, and specifications in performing and/or directing analyses and recommending/implementing corrective actions.
    • Apply emerging technology applicable to TDP and PLM to improvement of processes for creation/sustainment of 3D Models and their application/use in production, manufacturing, quality, and re-procurement processes.   
    • Develop and recommend changes to NAVAIR, Navy, and DOD integrated logistic support policies, processes, and assessment tools, and initiate actions to effectively incorporate approved changes into existing logistic support programs





    • Requires a BS/BA degree, and 5+ years’ related experience, or a Master’s and 3 years of experience; without a degree 11+ years of experience is required.
    • Knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of all aspects of TDP elements and products as applicable to complex weapons systems, including 2D and 3D Models and Model Based Definition/Engineering (MBD/E)
    • Knowledge of TDP related Information Technology (IT) and commercial CAD/CAM/CAE software, production, manufacturing, quality, and re-procurement processes and policies as applicable to TDP lifecycle management.
    • Knowledge of current and evolving government and industry standards for modeling data and MBD/MBE concepts.
    • Ability to evaluate DOD, OSD, DON, NAVAIR and other policies, specifications/standards and guidance for changes and provide updated documentation and/or recommendations.
    • Knowledge of DOD Lifecycle Integrated Logistics Support for weapons systems, and familiarity with Commercial/Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) production methods, as well as equipment and documentation, analyses, and business processes.


    • Knowledge of TDP application and use for organic depot production/manufacturing support
    • Knowledge of TDP use in re-procurement of weapon systems
    • Skill in effective oral and written communications which enables the incumbent to make formal and informal presentations concerning technical and managerial aspects of assigned project efforts
    • DAWIA certification at Acquisition Logistics Level II or higher


    This position requires the candidate to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.  In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a U.S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship. An active Secret clearance is preferred.
