  • Overview

    We are seeking a Red Hat Linux System Administrator at Scott AFB, IL to support our US Air Force, Air Mobility Command customer.


    • Scheduling, coordinating, assisting with and overseeing installations, upgrades, and maintenance of servers and equipment used to support Air Mobility Command’s Command and Control requirements
    • Perform initial configuration and setup of systems
    • Monitor system resources daily; make recommendations for upgrades; troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems within the system
    • Perform system tuning to enhance performance; develops backup schedules according to project and system requirements
    • Test new and updated operating system software, system file fixes and major product enhancements
    • Reconfigure system and COTS software as required



    • Bachelor of Science with 7 years IP experience or commensurate mix of education and experience OR High School Diploma with 11 years of IT experience, 8 of which must be specialized, concentrated hands-on 
    • Linux and Windows administration
    • Certifications required: DoDD 8570.1M Level II Compliance (GSEC, Security +, or SSCP) 
    • UNIX/Linux/RHEL experience in either an ORACLE/SUN Solaris or Windows 2008 environment Experience with RedHat and Windows security patching, IAVA processExperience in the following technologies: Red Hat Linux, VMWare, LDAP
    • Strong communication skills, excellent teamwork




    This position requires the candidate to possess and maintain a Secret security clearance.
