    Peraton is expanding its presence across the Space enterprise bringing advanced concepts, space and cyber solutions, enterprise systems and services delivery, and integrated operations to advance our customers’ missions and solve their most daunting challenges.  We are seeking a senior leader with deep understanding of the Air Force space community, ability to connect mission needs with technical solutions, an entrepreneurial talent focused on business growth, and extensive skills as a senior software engineer to be applied across the Peraton Space portfolio with initial emphasis on the Engineering Development Integration Sustainment (EDIS) acquisition.

     

    The ideal candidate manages and oversees the design and development of software applications for the Engineering, Development, Integration, and Sustainment (EDIS) contract. Reports to Chief Systems Engineer and manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Has full authority for personnel actions. Coordinates with Systems Engineering and Integration Engineering to ensure functions and specifications are met. Ensures project/department milestones are met and adhering to approved budgets. 

     

    Responsibilities

    Job Description:

    • Serve as the team’s primary technical leader
    • Consult with management, customers, and external contractors regarding the project schedule, resources, plans, designs, and implementations
    • Oversee technical design, development, and implementation of system/software services
    • Assist in defining architecture requirements
    • Establish standards for design and development
    • Evaluate emerging technologies for capability, supportability and extensibility
    • Define, prioritize, assign, and monitor team tasks and individual workloads and assignments
    • Provide product demonstrations to the customer and relay feedback to team members
    • Interact with customers regarding strategies, requirements, problem solving, and support
    • Work with other contractor teams to ensure interfaces and performances are met
    • Interface with management for reach-back support
    • Work with minimal supervision/guidance
    • Assist in technical risk/opportunity identification

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Math, Science or Engineering related field.
    • Eight or more years of experience directly related to software development using JAVA/C/C++/C#
    • Eight or more years of experience in software development using Object Oriented Methodologies
    • Three or more years of experience with Service Oriented Architectures.
    • Three or more years of experience using an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
    • Three or more years of experience in a supervisor role
    • Experience working in a Satellite Ground System environment
    • Must already have a current/active DoD Secret security clearance with ability to meet TS/SCI requirements. An active TS/SCI security clearance is highly desired.

    Desired:

    • UML software design tools
    • Scripting languages (Perl, Java, PowerShell or others)
    • Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
    • Extensible Markup Language (XML) and application servers
    • Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), JavaScript, and J2EE technologies

     

    SECURITY CLEARANCE:

     

    This position requires the candidate to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance with ability to meet TS/SCI requirements .  In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a U.S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
