    Peraton is expanding its presence across the Space enterprise bringing advanced concepts, space and cyber solutions, enterprise systems and services delivery, and integrated operations to advance our customers’ missions and solve their most daunting challenges.  We are seeking a senior leader with deep understanding of the Air Force space community, ability to connect mission needs with technical solutions, an entrepreneurial talent focused on business growth, and extensive skills as a senior senior system engineer to be applied across the Peraton Space portfolio with initial emphasis on the Engineering Development Integration Sustainment (EDIS) acquisition.


    The Lead SE will manage and oversee the design and development of hardware and systems for the Engineering, Development, Integration, and Sustainment (EDIS) contract. Reports to Chief Systems Engineer and manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Has full authority for personnel actions. Coordinates with Software Engineering and Integration Engineering to ensure functions and specifications are met. Ensures project/department milestones are met and adhering to approved budgets.


    • Serve as the team’s primary technical leader
    • Consult with management, customers, and external contractors regarding the project schedule, resources, plans, designs, and implementations
    • Oversee technical design, development, and implementation of system services
    • Validate system-of-systems concepts or system concepts or subsystem concepts by inspection, analysis, test, and demonstration to assure that the system architecture and design concepts satisfy the intent of the customer requirements
    • Establish standards for system design and development
    • Perform analysis of system to ensure that performance goals are met and that integrity of design is maintained and conforms to company and industry standards
    • Coordinate resolution of disapproved integration and checkout results by documenting and reporting reasons for disapproval to resolve anomalies
    • Validate system-of-systems requirements or system requirements or subsystem requirements by inspection, analysis, test, and demonstration to assure that the system architecture, design and implementation satisfies the intent of the customer requirements
    • Evaluate emerging technologies for capability, supportability and extensibility
    • Define, prioritize, assign, and monitor team tasks and individual workloads and assignments
    • Interact with customers regarding strategies, requirements, problem solving, and support
    • Work with other contractor teams to ensure interfaces and performances are met
    • Interface with management for reach-back support
    • Work with minimal supervision/guidance
    • Assist in technical risk/opportunity identification



    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Math, Science or Engineering related field.
    • Must already have a current/active DoD Secret security clearance with ability to meet TS/SCI requirements. An active TS/SCI security clearance is highly desired
    • 8 or more years of experience directly related to System Engineering for ground systems or space operations
    • 8 or more years of experience roubleshooting, operating, and maintaining local and remote IF / RF equipment such as but not limited to (modems, HPA, BUC/BDC, LNA, LNB, matrix switches, distributors, ACU/CCU, AIU), antenna terminals, and WAN/LAN equipment
    • 3 or more years supporting Microsoft Architectures
    • 3 or more years of experience using VMware virtualization products
    • 3 or more years of experience in a supervisor role
    • Strong knowledge of Telecommunications Satellite Ground Systems including Gateways, Teleports, Network & Satellite Operation facilities and related technologies
    • In-depth knowledge of data structures and ability to analyze data to solve problems
    • Familiar with agile scrum framework related to testing and product development and validation



    • Experience with VMware or visualization technologies
    • Experience with Microsoft Windows and various Linux OSs
    • Experience in software or systems testing
    • Experience writing specifications and conducting trades




    This position requires the candidate to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.  In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a U.S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
