    Peraton is seeking a proven professional for the role of Business Development Executive for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). The position is based in Herndon, VA. Some travel may be required as needed.

    The successful candidate develops knowledge of customers, understanding of competitors, and has an awareness of the effects of market dynamics within an assigned market sub-segment.  He/she will determine market trends and develop business cases that align customers’ needs/opportunities with Peraton’s capabilities and discriminators. 

     

    The successful candidate collaborates throughout the company to effectively communicate with a wide range of NRO customers, stakeholders, and industry peers; is integral to establishing trusted relationships between Peraton personnel and their peers within his/her external customer base; and enhances external customer knowledge and acceptance of Peraton’s products, solutions, and services.  Success in this role is ultimately measured by meeting and exceeding acquisition and financial targets aligned to company goals.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Manages resources to create, identify, develop, and qualify opportunities 
    • Achieve acquisition and sales goals through winning new business, contract recompetes, and organic program growth
    • Primary interface with customer community and building customer relationships through effective communications, both with internal and external customer bases
    • Develop strategies to "shape" requirements and acquisition strategy
    • Identify and target new business markets, adjacencies, and partnerships
    • Schedule and facilitate executive customer contact plan
    • Lead/participate in the development and execution of trade shows / events
    • Develop and maintain an active account plan in alignment and consistent with corporate strategy and goals
    • Embrace the Peraton Business Acquisition Process in daily activities, and effectively communicate all the opportunities and plans for management and technical teams.
    • Assist in guiding buying organizations by demonstrating technology solutions, architectures, capabilities, and potential acquisition paths for early stage opportunities, working with internal technical and program management teams to develop responses for requests for information (RFI), market survey’s, white papers, presentations, briefings, and major event demonstrations.

     

    Qualifications

     REQUIRED:

    • 13+ years related work experience with majority related to business development, marketing management, or technical and engineering solutions for the NRO.   
    • Current understanding of client’s needs in order to align Peraton strengths and core values.
    • Must demonstrate high energy, integrity, strong business acumen, professionalism and commitment.
    • Highly effective communicator to all levels within the company and with clients.
    • Bachelor’s degree, with 13+ years of professional experience.
    • Active Top Secret security clearance, SCI eligible

     

    PREFERRED: 

    • Prior experience working directly for NRO or other IC agencies
    • Experience working with other DOD, IC, and related government customers
    • Record of significant business growth
    • Active TS/SCI with polygraph
