Responsibilities

We are seeking Network / Hybrid Connectivity Engineers to design, implement, operate, and troubleshoot network services that connect cloud, on-premises, shared-service, mission, and security-domain environments.

This role will ensure that services and applications can communicate reliably across diverse deployment environments while maintaining appropriate network segmentation, access controls, security boundaries, and connectivity protections. Engineers will work across networking, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, cybersecurity, and platform teams to design and maintain reliable connectivity for enterprise and mission services.

The ideal candidate brings strong enterprise networking expertise and the ability to troubleshoot complex connectivity issues spanning cloud, on-premises infrastructure, applications, and security boundaries.

Responsibilities

Hybrid Network Engineering

  • Design, implement, and support routing, DNS, load balancing, ingress, egress, and network segmentation across cloud and on-premises environments.

  • Engineer and maintain connectivity between AWS classified cloud environments and on-premises infrastructure.

  • Support connectivity between shared services, tenant environments, mission systems, and external dependencies.

  • Design and troubleshoot network paths across diverse deployment locations and infrastructure environments.

  • Coordinate AWS Direct Connect or comparable enterprise connectivity solutions where applicable.

  • Evaluate network dependencies and connectivity requirements for new and evolving platform capabilities.

Security & Boundary Integration

  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to implement approved network segmentation and Zero Trust patterns.

  • Coordinate firewall, proxy, boundary, and controlled-interface requirements across technical teams.

  • Support connectivity to cross-domain services while maintaining clear ownership boundaries with Cross-Domain Solution (CDS) specialists.

  • Document network dependencies, approved traffic flows, ports, protocols, and connectivity requirements.

  • Ensure network designs appropriately account for security controls and boundary requirements.

Operations & Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot complex network and application-connectivity issues across hybrid environments.

  • Support Kubernetes networking, service mesh, load balancers, and platform ingress/egress where applicable.

  • Participate in Tier 3/4 support, incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and scheduled maintenance.

  • Monitor network capacity, latency, availability, and recurring connectivity issues and recommend corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with application, platform, cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues that span multiple technical domains.

  • Support network lifecycle activities as environments, tenants, and platform capabilities evolve.
