Solutions Architect, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

Peraton is looking for a seasoned Solution Architect to provide technical architecture leadership for a complex, enterprise-wide Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and IT modernization program supporting the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP).  The qualified candidate will lead the architecture and technical integration of MES capabilities with Oracle E-Business Suite/Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), manufacturing IT/OT systems, enterprise data and analytics, artificial intelligence, Maximo, cybersecurity, and related enterprise services.

The candidate will translate BEP mission and operational requirements into secure, scalable, and supportable technical solutions; establish and maintain architecture standards and patterns; and provide technical direction across multiple Agile teams and delivery workstreams.  The position requires the ability to balance modernization and new development with operational stability in a highly operational manufacturing environment.

 

Work Location: This is a hybrid position, with the expectation to work on-site 3 days per week in Washington, DC

 

Travel: This position will require periodic support at the Fort Worth, TX location as required by the customer.

 

What You Will Do

• Lead solution architecture for BEP MES capabilities and related enterprise modernization initiatives.
• Develop and maintain end-to-end solution architecture, technical designs, integration patterns, and architecture documentation.
• Translate BEP business, manufacturing, operational, and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and supportable solutions.
• Define architecture and integration approaches across MES, Oracle E-Business Suite/OCI, Maximo, enterprise applications, data platforms, analytics, AI, and manufacturing IT/OT environments.
• Provide technical leadership for the integration of manufacturing systems, equipment, applications, databases, interfaces, and enterprise services.
• Evaluate current-state environments and define target-state architectures, modernization roadmaps, technology standards, and transition strategies.
• Ensure proposed solutions address availability, performance, maintainability, interoperability, security, and operational continuity requirements.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Agile teams, developers, testers, system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, data/AI teams, and BEP stakeholders to ensure architecture is implemented as designed.
• Support SAFe Agile delivery through architecture guidance for Epics, Features, Stories, Program Increments, sprint execution, technical dependencies, and release planning.
• Review and approve technical designs, interface specifications, implementation approaches, and engineering artifacts for alignment with enterprise architecture.
• Support modernization of manufacturing capabilities associated with new equipment, automation, IoT, data analytics, and related IT/OT integration.
• Provide technical recommendations to BEP leadership and Peraton management regarding architecture, technology selection, integration, reliability, and modernization.
• Ensure architecture documentation, technical standards, diagrams, decision records, and system documentation remain current throughout the lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust level clearance
• Bachelors Degree and 8 years professional experience, an Associates Degree and 10 years professional experience, or a High School Diploma/equivalent and 12 years professional experience
• Minimum 8 years of demonstrated experience in enterprise solution architecture, systems architecture, software architecture, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated experience architecting complex enterprise IT solutions involving application development, systems integration, cloud technologies, databases, and enterprise platforms.
• Strong experience designing and integrating ERP or comparable mission-critical enterprise systems.
• Strong experience with Oracle E-Business Suite and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Experience developing end-to-end architectures and integration solutions spanning applications, data, infrastructure, and external/enterprise systems.
• Experience with API-based integration, messaging, interfaces, data exchange, and other enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience leading technical solutioning across multiple Agile development teams and concurrent technical workstreams.
• Working knowledge of SAFe Agile concepts, including Epics, Features, Stories, Program Increments, sprint execution, and release planning.
• Experience developing architecture documentation, technical diagrams, interface specifications, design documents, standards, and architecture decision records.
• Experience assessing current-state environments and developing target-state architectures and modernization roadmaps.
• Experience addressing system availability, performance, scalability, resiliency, maintainability, security, and operational continuity.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior Government stakeholders, technical teams, and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience architecting MES solutions in a high-volume manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with IT/OT integration, MES/ERP, SCADA, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), IoT, and industrial automation.
• Experience with IBM Maximo or other enterprise asset management platforms.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms, data governance, analytics, and artificial intelligence/machine learning.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and services, particularly Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Experience with cybersecurity architecture, Zero Trust principles, identity and access management, and security considerations for IT/OT environments.
• AWS, Azure, Oracle, or other recognized architecture/cloud certification.
• Prior experience supporting the U.S. Treasury Department, BEP, or other Federal agencies.
• Active Federal Public Trust or other applicable security clearance.

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
