Technical Drawing Specialist - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technical Drawing Specialist to support engineering and design activities through the development, modification, and maintenance of accurate technical drawings and documentation.

 

In this role, you will transform engineering concepts, sketches, specifications, and field information into clear, precise 2D and 3D CAD drawings used for equipment configurations, rack elevations, cabling, wiring diagrams, and other technical applications. You’ll work closely with engineers, managers, and other technical professionals to ensure drawings accurately reflect design requirements and project changes.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in precision, enjoys solving technical design challenges, and can manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards for accuracy and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software, including rack elevations, cable layouts, wiring diagrams, equipment configurations, and related designs.
  • Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, blueprints, and technical documentation and translate them into accurate, professional drawings.
  • Partner with engineers, project managers, and technical teams to incorporate design feedback, revisions, and project requirements.
  • Modify and update existing drawings to reflect engineering changes, site modifications, equipment updates, and revised specifications.
  • Convert hand-drawn sketches and legacy documentation into accurate digital drawings for engineering, manufacturing, construction, or installation purposes.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, drawing libraries, and revision histories in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Ensure drawings comply with applicable drafting standards, project requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and potential discrepancies before release.
  • Manage multiple drawing assignments and priorities while meeting project schedules and deadlines.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Duty Station: MMAC or Remote
  • Remote Option: Yes, you can be remote. Remote employees must be local to OKC and would be required to travel to MMAC approximately 25% of the time.

Qualifications

Position Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • At least 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3 years of expeirence with a Masters; 9 total years can be accepted without a degree
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or comparable platforms.
  • Working knowledge of technical drafting standards, drawing conventions, and documentation practices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop technical drawings, blueprints, engineering sketches, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of geometry, spatial relationships, and fundamental engineering principles.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, revisions, and competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, managers, designers, and other multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Ability to work independently while also taking direction and incorporating feedback.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
