Peraton is seeking an Information Knowledge Management Specialist to work on-site at Camp Smith, HI.
The Information and Knowledge Management Requirements Specialist (IKMRS) is embedded within an assigned MARFORPAC staff division and serves as the primary liaison between the division and the Information and Knowledge Management Section. The IKMRS develops an understanding of the division’s mission, battle rhythm, business processes, information requirements, data sources, collaboration methods, and operational challenges.
The IKMRS identifies, documents, analyzes, prioritizes, and coordinates requirements that improve information flow, collaboration, decision-making, and organizational effectiveness. Working with division personnel, the IKM Project Manager, and the broader IKM team, the IKMRS translates operational needs into actionable requirements and supports solutions throughout assessment, design, development, testing, implementation, adoption, and sustainment.
What You Will Do:
- Serve as the division’s primary liaison to the IKM Section, maintain awareness of current and emerging requirements, and communicate identified needs to the IKM Project Manager for coordination and alignment with the broader IKM team.
- Conduct discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and operational assessments to understand workflows, information sources, business rules, system dependencies, pain points, risks, and desired outcomes.
- Document current-state and future-state processes, information exchange needs, data sources, functional requirements, recommended improvements, and other information needed to support informed decisions and solution development.
- Capture, prioritize, and track division requirements through the established IKM requirements-management process while coordinating stakeholders, timelines, dependencies, and expected outcomes.
- Analyze battle rhythm events, recurring reports, staffing actions, approval workflows, information-sharing practices, and other business processes to identify manual, duplicative, or inefficient activities that may benefit from process redesign, automation, application development, or improved reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve collaboration, information management, and decision support through authorized capabilities such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Lists, Forms, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, MAVEN, and other approved platforms.
- Define business requirements, user expectations, acceptance criteria, and operational outcomes for proposed solutions, and support design reviews, pilots, user acceptance testing, implementation planning, and stakeholder feedback sessions.
- Assist divisions with establishing organized and sustainable information structures, including knowledge repositories, metadata, permissions, data ownership, content lifecycle management, records management, and information governance practices.
- Identify potential artificial intelligence use cases based on validated operational needs and assess whether the supporting data, information, permissions, security, and governance are sufficient for responsible implementation.
- Monitor the effectiveness, adoption, and sustainment of implemented solutions; develop requirements documentation, process maps, recommendations, user guidance, training materials, and status reports; and recommend adjustments as mission needs, policies, or requirements change.
- Promote knowledge sharing and coordination across staff divisions to reduce duplication, improve interoperability, and encourage the effective use of enterprise capabilities.
- Ensure proposed processes and solutions comply with applicable cybersecurity, records management, information governance, accessibility, privacy, and security requirements.
- Coordinate technical incidents and service requests with the division Information Systems Coordinator, HITS Branch, or other appropriate support organization while maintaining focus on broader IKM requirements and process improvement.
