Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Psychological Operations (PSYOP) Planner (formerly Military Information Support Operations, MISO) to serve as a Technical Site Lead in support of CJTF‑OIR.

 

Location: This Position is a Tampa, FL - based position with forward deployment to Amman, Jordan as an unaccompanied assignment.

 

Role: 

 

In this role, you will plan, integrate, and execute PSYOP/MISO activities at both the operational and tactical levels, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and partner requirements.

 

As the Technical Site Lead, you will provide direct liaison, integration, and synchronization with CJTF‑OIR staff, subordinate units, and a wide range of joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational (JIIM) partners. You will help shape and coordinate influence activities, ensuring effective communication, interoperability, and operational cohesion across the enterprise.

 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and supervise the implementation of PSYOP programs and plans in support of CJTF-OIR objectives.
  • Guide the planning, execution, synchronization, and assessment of PSYOP activities and objectives across the operational and tactical levels of warfare.
  • Coordinate assessment efforts by providing guidance on measures of effectiveness and performance, synchronizing analytical activities and coordinating with CJTF-OIR on approved objectives.
  • Advise commanders, staffs, and supported units on PSYOP capabilities, activities, products, and employment considerations.
  • Conduct target audience (TA) and operational environment analysis to identify key behaviors, vulnerabilities, susceptibilities, and communication pathways.
  • Identify and recommend effective messaging conduits to influence designated TAs.
  • Plan influence activities and develop PSYOP series concepts in support of approved behavioral objectives.
  • Coordinate with product development and dissemination elements to synchronize execution.
  • Assess progress toward commander-approved behavioral objectives.
  • Coordinate, synchronize, and integrate PSYOP activities with coalition partners, interagency organizations, and information-related capabilities to support CJTF-OIR campaign objectives.
  • Integrate PSYOP capabilities and considerations into all phases of Combatant Command (CCMD) planning and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure PSYOP capabilities are incorporated into deliberate planning, contingency planning, and crisis action planning.
  • Provide expert mission analysis, operational assessment, and recommendations in support of information related capabilities and operations.
  • Collaborate with interagency, coalition, and intelligence community (IC) partners to ensure unified and synchronized influence activities.
  • Develop innovative approaches to counter adversarial use of information within the cyber and electromagnetic domains.  
  • Assess cultural dynamics and factors that impact operational planning, risk, and security considerations.
  • Demonstrate expertise in oral, visual, and written communications and briefing techniques.
  • Effectively advise, negotiate, and communicate with senior military leaders, government officials, and partner organizations.
  • Gain acceptance of recommended concepts, policies, guidance, and operational approaches.
  • Serve as the focal point for the onsite team with the supported client; maintain communication with clients to provide project status/updates. 
  • Assesses project and work/performance issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant planning experience with a BS/BA degree; minimum of 6 years with MS/MA degree. An additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. 
  • PSYOP/MISO (37A/37F) career field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with PSYOP Integrating at the service or joint level in support of operations at Combatant Commands or Joint Task Forces.
  • Knowledge in Joint Operational Planning Process, Military Decision-Making Process, and military campaign plan planning, targeting processes and expertise in developing and accessing tactical and operational level PSYOP plans and orders.  
  • Able to coordinate PSYOP activities through appropriate command channels and develop policies and procedures that reinforce established command and control (C2) principles.
  • Experience in qualitative MOE / quantitative MOP assessment analysis.
  • U.S. citizenship required. 
  • Possess a current U.S. Passport.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Service component functions and Combatant Command relationships, with experience coordinating PSYOP activities through Service, Joint, coalition, and interagency channels. Thorough understanding of DoD, Joint, and Army doctrine, policies, and regulations.
  • Experience showing the abilities of recommending changes to policy, force structure and design, and command relationships. Proficiency in integrating PSYOP capabilities into cyber operations with knowledge of military command relationships and command and control (C2) procedures.  
  • Job experience in coordinating PSYOP actions within the proper channels and developing policies that incorporate the principle of C2.
  • Demonstrated experience with integrating, coordinating, and synchronizing adjacent and supporting operations, as well as developing support for related capabilities and their activities. Be familiar with, certified in, or have applicable operational/field time experience in:
    • Military Deception (MILDEC)
    • OPSEC
    • EW
    • Cyberspace operations
    • Coordinating intelligence requirements
  • Recent joint or service level information operations planning experience with current COCOM AOR Experience.
  • Joint Cyber Operations Planners Course.
  • Joint Information Operations Planners Course.
  • Defense OPSEC Planner Course.
  • Special Warfare Advanced Targeting and Analysis Course.
  • Special Operations MILDEC Planner’s Course.
  • Irregular Warfare Course.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage senior leaders and staff and conduct complex briefings to large audiences.
  • Documented experience demonstrating the ability to work effectively within task organized working groups.
  • In-depth expertise in planning, integrating, and coordinating with inter-agency and intelligence community entities.
  • Documented experience at developing and utilizing information products that leverage current and emerging technologies to inform planning, improve coordination, and enable timely decisions.
  • Must demonstrate creative and critical thinking.
  • Must be capable of quickly learning new skills.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
