Responsibilities

Provides end-to-end cloud software research, development, and engineering services, including requirements analysis, system design, software development, installation, integration, testing, validation, evaluation, enhancement, sustainment, and issue diagnosis and resolution. Designs, develops, and implements secure, scalable cloud-based solutions, including comprehensive cloud architectures, detailed plans, and technical specifications.

 

Collaborates closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define and deliver innovative cloud-based products, services, and applications. Leads the deployment and continuous improvement of cloud management platforms, evaluating performance and implementing enhancements to optimize reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency. Expands and enriches cloud service portfolios, including value-added offerings tailored to mission and business needs.

 

Develops data-driven solution recommendations, including Basis of Estimate (BOE), and conducts thorough cost-benefit analyses comparing cloud, virtual private networks, dedicated hosting, and on-premises solutions. Identifies high-impact opportunities for cloud adoption across enterprise IT environments.

 

Performs operations and maintenance of secure, managed cloud platforms, incorporating automation to improve system performance, monitoring, alerting, and auto-remediation. Designs, develops, and maintains infrastructure as code (IaC) using CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable, and repeatable deployments.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is highly desired and may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
  • Requires a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in software development and engineering, including requirements analysis, design, development, installation, integration, testing, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Must have at least six (6) years of experience developing software using high-level programming languages such as Java, C, or C++.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat versions 3–5).
  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in software integration and unit testing, including the development and execution of test plans and test scripts.
  • An active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in AWS SDKs and APIs
  • Expertise in designing scalable, efficient AWS Cloud Architectures.
  • Experience performing AWS Well Architected Framework Reviews
  • Hands on experience with AWS cloud, serverless architecture and cloud application deployment
  • A deep understanding of AWS services and how to leverage them to drive innovation
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) tools, like CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Skilled in CI/CD Testing
  • Familiar with or have used AWS Pricing Calculator and Cost Explorer
  • Familiar with or have used CloudWatch and CloudTrial
  • Experience with Gitlab for Version Control.

One of the following certifications:

- AWS Solution Architect Associate

- AWS Developer Associate

- AWS DevOps Engineer Professional

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
