Responsibilities

Peraton is currently searching for a high-energy Business Development Executive to serve as the Director for Growth, supporting the Civil Space Operating Unit within the Space Systems and Solutions Sector, with a primary focus on NASA's Glenn Research Center. This professional will support building the pipeline for organic growth through business development activities, including, strategic planning, opportunity identification, early pursuit, customer relations, and participation as a Core Team member in the full life-cycle business development, capture, and proposal management process.

 

Business Development Executives (BDEs) within the Space Systems and Solutions Sector are viewed as thought leaders, assisting in developing strategies for growth and identifying new markets and opportunities. They have the resources of the company at their disposal to protect, expand and grow the business. They are responsible for managing complex pursuits from identification to proposal, leading matrixed teams throughout the capture process to ensure opportunities are qualified and differentiated.  Business Development Executives represent the company to customers, vendors, and teaming partners, making strategic assessments on capabilities, and establishing risk/reward decisions for every opportunity.  They support the development of individual opportunity win strategies, account plans, technology development plans, and partnering strategies.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages resources to create, identify, develop, and qualify opportunities that align to the company’s strategic campaigns that result in meaningful and measurable revenue growth
  • Achieve acquisition and sales goals through winning new business, contract recompetes, teaming, and organic program growth
  • Develop and maintain an active strategic growth plan, and the associated pipeline, in alignment and consistent with corporate campaign strategy and goals
  • Develop and maintain strong industry relationships for partnerships and understanding of the competitive landscape to inform win strategy
  • Primary interface with customer community for assigned opportunities
  • Builds customer relationships through effective communication
  • Develop strategies to "shape" requirements and acquisition strategy
  • Identify and target new business markets, adjacencies, and partnerships
  • Embrace the Peraton Business Acquisition Process in daily activities and effectively manage and communicate all the opportunities and plans for management and technical teams.
  • Assist in guiding potential customers by demonstrating technology solutions, architecture, capabilities, and potential acquisition paths for early-stage opportunities, working with internal technical and program management teams to develop responses for requests for information (RFI), market survey’s, white papers, presentations, briefings, and major event demonstrations

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 18+ years of related experience with a minimum of 5+ yrs related to business development, capture, or technical and engineering solutions with NASA. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.    
  • Experience in shaping opportunities by influencing federal and/or commercial stakeholders, aligning mission priorities, and building a qualified pipeline of funded programs. (either as government or industry experience)
  • Experience in being a forward- looking strategist, aligning technical capabilities with federal funding priorities and budget to drive long- term growth and portfolio expansion.
  • Successful and proven track record of success- establishing and defending a pipeline, funding and growing a portfolio.
  • Deep and current understanding of customer’s activities and needs to leverage Peraton strengths and core values
  • Must demonstrate high energy, integrity, strong business acumen, professionalism and commitment
  • Highly effective communicator to all levels within the company and with clients
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

 Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in the federal government or supporting federal government agencies such as NASA or NOAA.
  • Demonstrated capacity to stay on top of current trends, issues, and technologies in mission areas through participation in industry groups and conferences.
  • Proven track record of teaming and developing mutually beneficial partner relationships with peers and other vendors.
  • Able to effectively diagnose client needs, propose and close solutions that have measurable and positive business impact.
  • Active Secret security clearance

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
