Responsibilities

The SND Analyst will support the U.S. Army National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) by managing and maintaining the Standard Nomenclature Database (SND) as part of the Joint Country Forces Assessment (JCOFA) program. This role involves ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and utility of equipment nomenclature data critical to Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) operations. The analyst will collaborate with stakeholders, review data requests, and provide recommendations to enhance the SND's functionality and alignment with mission objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management:
    • Review, recommend corrections, and certify database entries for equipment nomenclature in the SND.
    • Ensure consistency with NGIC sources, including subject matter experts (SMEs), SPIRIT, and JCOFA tables.
    • Update and validate MIDB equipment codes used in the SND.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Participate in teleconferences with AMSAA to review and finalize data requests.
    • Brief the status of updates at the annual Army C&P Data Portal Configuration Control Board (CCB) meeting.
    • Work closely with AMSAA and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with naming conventions and rules.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct thorough reviews of SND data to ensure accuracy and relevance for use in DoD studies and operations.
    • Submit recommended corrections, additions, or deletions to the Government for inclusion in the SND.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed records of all updates and changes to the SND.
    • Provide regular status reports to the Government team lead and AMSAA SND Administrator.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Data Management, Intelligence Studies, or Information Systems) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with DoD equipment codes and nomenclature.
    • Familiarity with MIDB equipment codes and their implications within the JCOFA program.  Fully understand the implications of equipment code use within the JCOFA program, and participate at MEPED/Equipment Code Users’ Meetings. 
    • Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders and participating in technical reviews.
    • Experience with SPIRIT and JCOFA tables.
    • Familiarity with Army C&P Data Portal architecture and processes.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in database management and quality assurance processes.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to interpret and apply naming conventions and taxonomies.
  • Security Clearance:
    • Active Top Secret clerance with ability to obtain SCI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating new working copy databases and conducting the quality assurance checks required for database release to the customer.
  • Experience developing database quality assurance checks is desired.
  • Experience converting Government assessments into graphical presentations such as templates, overlays, briefings, and reports using JACOB Map, and SymbolMaker or equivalent toolsets.
  • Have experience providing JCOFA customers customized, on demand, database reports, and conducting research to support release of the database report by an appropriate FDO.
  • Have experience working with MIDB equipment codes and nomenclatures as used in JACOB and SPIRIT databases. AMSAA will provide SND and Army C&P Data Portal architecture, structure, and process training to contractor personnel. The Government will provide information on the SND naming conventions and rules to ensure consistency with existing SND tables in the Army C&P Data Portal. 
  • Be capable of providing JACOB training for new users of this software. Experience providing classroom formal future OB database application training is desired.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
