Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Packager to support a large-scale Windows-based enterprise environment within a federal government contract. This role is responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying application packages across a complex, security-focused infrastructure. The ideal candidate has deep experience with modern packaging technologies, automation, and endpoint management systems in highly regulated environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, create, and maintain application packages using technologies such as MSI, MSIX, App-V, and other virtualization/containerization tools
  • Perform application discovery, compatibility analysis, and remediation for Windows 10/11 environments
  • Manage full lifecycle of application packaging: intake, packaging, testing, deployment, and maintenance
  • Develop and maintain packaging standards, documentation, and best practices
  • Automate packaging processes using PowerShell and other scripting languages
  • Integrate packaged applications into enterprise deployment systems (e.g., Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager / Intune)
  • Troubleshoot complex packaging, deployment, and compatibility issues
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with federal security standards (e.g., STIGs, patching, vulnerability remediation)
  • Support application rationalization and modernization initiatives
  • Provide Tier 3 support for application-related incidents and requests

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D., 16 years with a HS Diploma
  • Hands-on experience with MSIX packaging and modernization strategies
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and deployment
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (ConfigMgr/SCCM and/or Intune)
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows OS internals, registry, file systems, and user profiles
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise security practices
  • Experience working in government or highly regulated environments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
