Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a forward-thinking and mission-driven Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to shape the technology vision and innovation strategy supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) DCCO portfolio. This is a high-impact leadership role for a technology executive who thrives at the intersection of mission delivery, advanced innovation, and growth.

 

As a key member of the leadership team, the CTO will serve as a trusted advisor to both internal stakeholders and government customers—translating complex mission needs into scalable, secure, and forward-leaning technology solutions. You will play a critical role in influencing strategic direction, driving differentiated capabilities, and positioning Peraton as a leader in delivering next-generation solutions across the DHS landscape.

 

What You Will Lead:

  • Mission-Driven Technology Strategy: Define and execute a technology vision that directly aligns to DHS mission priorities, ensuring solutions are innovative, resilient, and operationally impactful.
  • Customer-Centric Innovation: Partner closely with government stakeholders to anticipate evolving needs and deliver tailored, mission-enabling solutions that drive measurable outcomes.
  • Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Growth: Build and strengthen executive-level relationships across industry partners, fostering collaboration on joint capabilities, emerging technologies, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Market Leadership & Thought Innovation: Maintain a forward-leaning perspective on emerging technologies, competitive dynamics, and acquisition trends—positioning Peraton to lead in areas such as AI/ML, cybersecurity, cloud, and data-driven operations.
  • Growth & Differentiation: Champion technology-driven growth by shaping solutions that enhance competitive positioning, expand market share, and deliver sustainable revenue growth.
  • Scalable Solution Development: Oversee the design and evolution of scalable, secure, and profitable managed services and solution offerings aligned to federal mission needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 16 years of experience, may have management experience
  • Progressive experience in technology leadership, including executive-level responsibility for enterprise IT strategy, innovation, and delivery within federal environments
  • Demonstrated experience shaping and executing agency-level technology strategies, including digital transformation, governance, risk management, organizational modernization, and mission/business application enablement
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering innovative, scalable technology solutions that drive mission impact and measurable outcomes
  • Strong history of partnering with Business Development and Capture teams to shape, position, and win large-scale federal opportunities
  • Deep expertise in cloud architectures, cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, Zero Trust), and emerging technologies such as AI/ML, data analytics, and advanced computing
  • Established ability to lead, mentor, and scale high-performing technical organizations, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience advising senior government leaders and industry partners
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate market trends and translate them into actionable technology strategies that enhance competitive positioning
  • U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Direct experience supporting DHS enterprise IT programs and contract vehicles (e.g., DCCO or similar large-scale IDIQs)
  • Background in federal IT services, managed services, cloud transformation, or large-scale infrastructure modernization initiatives
  • Experience in pre-sales, capture strategy, and solution architecture, including leading technical volumes and shaping winning proposals
  • Familiarity with DHS mission space, acquisition processes, and stakeholder landscape
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, AWS/Azure certifications, PMP, SAFe) are a plus

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
