Responsibilities

The IT Asset Management Specialist is responsible for the full lifecycle management of IT assets across the organization. This includes procurement, deployment, maintenance, refresh, and disposal of hardware assets such as PCs, peripherals, printers, network equipment, VoIP phones, and video conferencing systems. The role ensures accurate asset tracking within the client’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and compliance with organizational standards and vendor support timelines.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of IT assets, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, refresh, and retirement.
  • Ensure timely refresh of hardware as it approaches end-of-support or end-of-life.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all IT assets in the client’s CMDB.
  • Ensure asset data integrity and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Manage inventory of PCs, peripherals, printers, network switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, VoIP phones, and video conferencing equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for procurement and warranty support.
  • Facilitate secure and compliant disposal of physical assets that are no longer in use or required.
  • Ensure proper data sanitization and environmental compliance during disposal.
  • Develop and implement best practices for asset lifecycle management.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize asset utilization and reduce costs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

  • 0 years with BS/BA; 4 years with HS Diploma/equivalent
  • Familiarity with CMDB tools and ITIL practices. 
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills. 
  • Knowledge of hardware lifecycle and vendor support policies. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with IT and procurement teams. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance. 
  • Preferred Certifications: 
  • ITIL Foundation

Target Salary Range

$39,000 - $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
