Virtual Infrastructure & Storage Administrator

Peraton is seeking an experienced Virtual Infrastructure & Storage Administrator to support mission-critical enterprise infrastructure for U.S. European Command (EUCOM) operations. This role provides operational and engineering support for secure data center environments supporting intelligence and mission systems. The position is located OCONUS at RAF Molesworth, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom, supporting operations at the Joint Analysis Center (JAC). The selected candidate will work within a team responsible for maintaining and optimizing enterprise virtualization, storage, and data center platforms in a secure DoD environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong experience in NetApp storage, VMware virtualization, and enterprise SAN/NAS infrastructure who enjoys solving complex technical challenges in support of operational missions.

What you will do:

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise storage and virtualization
  infrastructure
• Provision and manage storage volumes, LUNs, and associated resources
• Conduct capacity planning, monitoring, and performance analysis
• Support incident response, service requests, and change management (CRQs)
• Maintain and administer VMware-based virtual infrastructure
• Support and maintain SAN and NAS storage environments
• Collaborate with network, storage, and virtualization engineering teams
• Assist with hardware and software lifecycle management
• Ensure systems comply with DISA STIG and DoD cybersecurity requirements
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and system architecture
  diagrams
• Provide recommendations for improvements to data center and virtualization
  platforms

The technical environment includes enterprise infrastructure technologies such as:
Storage & Virtualization:

•  NetApp storage platforms
•  VMware vSphere / VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
•  VMware Aria automation
•  Citrix XenApp / XenServer
•  Kubernetes and container platforms
•  NetApp Trident

Networking & Infrastructure:

•  SAN technologies (Fibre Channel, FCoE)
•  NAS protocols (NFS, SMB)
•  Cisco UCS
•  Cisco Nexus
•  Cisco HyperFlex

What you will need:

• 7+years with BS/BA, or  7+ years with MS/MA
• 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise storage and virtualization infrastructure
• Active Top Secret clearance and (eligible for TS/SCI)
• IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE)
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Visa to work in the UK

One of the following certifications:

• NetApp Cluster Mode Certification (NCDA or NCIE)
• VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
• Cisco Data Center Certification (CCNA or CCNP

 

Preferred: 

• ITIL Foundation certification
• CCNP Data Center
• VMware NSX experience
• Experience deploying Cisco ACI or hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI)
• Experience with Software Defined Networking
• Automation experience using: PowerShell, VBScript, Batch scripting
• Experience with the following is a plus: Microsoft SCCM, Active Directory, Exchange, and SharePoint.

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
