Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Chief Enterprise Architect to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead EA governance: define policies, processes, review boards, and working groups to integrate EA into program decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain authoritative architecture artifacts (views/models/inventories/transition artifacts) consistent with DoDAF and Army guidance.
  • Translate laws, regulations, standards, and mission requirements into architectural direction, policies, and priorities.
  • Conduct current/future state assessments, gap analyses, risk assessments, and produce actionable roadmaps and COAs with ROMs and decision artifacts.
  • Align EA outcomes with IT strategy, portfolio management, modernization (cloud, platform rationalization), and emerging technology adoption.
  • Establish EA performance measures, SLAs/KPIs, and reporting to track progress and value realization.
  • Manage EA teams and integrate systems analysis, capacity forecasting, data management, and strategic planning into EA practice.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, validate requirements, resolve conflicts, and ensure EA content quality and accessibility in approved Army collaboration platforms.
  • Mentor staff, enforce configuration and data quality control, and ensure EA artifacts support accreditation, acquisition, and budgeting processes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • Clearance: TS/SCI (active)
  • Education/Training/Certification: Candidate must meet ONE:
    • Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering; OR
    • Completion of DoD/Military Enterprise Architect (Advanced) Playlist; OR
    • Relevant certifications (see list below).
  • Experience: Progressive enterprise architecture experience, including leading EA governance for large DoD or enterprise IT organizations and producing DoDAF‑compliant artifacts.
  • Demonstrated skills: DoDAF modeling, architecture roadmapping, portfolio alignment, cloud migration planning, security architecture integration, stakeholder facilitation, and senior‑level briefings.

Acceptable Certifications (one or more preferred)

  • CISSO, CISSP‑ISSAP, CISSP‑ISSEP, GCIA, GCLD, GCSA, GICSP
  • Other expert certs desirable: CASP+, AWS/Azure/GCP Professional, TOGAF, DAWIA PM

Desired / Preferred

  • Prior ARNG, Army, DoD enterprise architecture or G6 experience
  • Demonstrated success producing ROMs, COAs, and decision artifacts for senior leadership and POM/APOM processes
  • Experience with DoD-approved collaboration platforms and EA toolsets (e.g., Sparx, MEGA, System Architect, ArchiMate tools)
  • Prior program management or acquisition interface experience

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
