Peraton is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer - SME to support Weather efforts in Alaska. This role will provide senior engineering support for infrastructure-related planning, assessment, coordination, and execution across operational and field-based environments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting projects that involve remote sites, infrastructure constraints, and coordination across multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for infrastructure-related planning, design coordination, and implementation.
  • Review infrastructure requirements, technical documentation, and site constraints.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, field personnel, subcontractors, and leadership to support execution.
  • Support assessment of existing conditions, infrastructure impacts, and implementation considerations.
  • Assist in identifying risks, dependencies, and technical issues affecting infrastructure delivery.
  • Review supporting documentation, design packages, and technical submittals for completeness and alignment.
  • Support planning for field execution, turnover, and closeout activities.

Work Location / Additional Requirements

  • This position is based in Anchorage, Alaska.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and support field sites and remote locations, as required.
  • Ability to work in austere environments and Arctic conditions, including remote site access and limited-amenity accommodations.
  • Willingness to comply with applicable site safety, badging, and operational requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of relevant experience; or 10 years of experience with applicable Masters, or 7 years applicaple experience with PHD
  • Experience supporting infrastructure engineering, field implementation, or technically complex project execution.
  • Experience coordinating across engineering, field, and project teams.
  • Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting FAA, weather, or remote-site infrastructure programs.
  • Experience with Alaska-based or Arctic operating environments.
  • Experience reviewing infrastructure documentation, field conditions, and technical constraints.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
