Peraton requires Cloud Systems Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3. Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroad.

Cloud Systems Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Performs Windows system support within AWS and Azure in both NIPR and SIPR networks.
- Oversees the implementation of Cloud technologies.
- Responsible for cloud planning and engineering guidance.
- Oversees the execution and after-action phases of current cloud operations.
- Oversees the operation, maintenance, integration, and administration of cloud databases.
- Oversees the management of hardware, software, and cloud computing infrastructure.
- Assists with developing resources including current and future cloud storage capabilities, storage virtualization, and backup solutions.
- Supports the management of storage resources located in the cloud.
- Monitors and manages storage systems and performing support for storage resources located within cloud services in response to incidents, reconfigurations, installations, or other physical or logical changes.
- Implements zero trust security measures, including implementing cloud security concepts such as access control, encryption, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, cloud-based security models and cloud-based security controls.
- Provides leadership to onsite and cloud capable support.
- Oversees the developing, implementing, and maintaining relevant cloud-based databases, as well as database services.
- Supports the hybrid multi-cloud by following strict security protocols (including IAM, data encryption, and governance and management policies), developing a migration plan, developing interconnectivity with legacy systems, and integrating monitoring and reporting tools.
- Responsible for resources aligned to current and future cloud storage capabilities, storage virtualization, and backup solutions.
- Assists with the troubleshooting the enterprise cloud and data networks and evaluates the impact of architectural changes on the network.
- Meets with clients to ensure services provided are within mission requirements.
- Supports the development of automated provisioning with knowledge of IaC tools (such as Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet) and their associated languages (such as HCL and YAML), deploying resources and services in cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their APIs and services, provisioning networking and security resources and policies.
- Develops solutions using scripting languages (such as Python, PowerShell and Bash) to automate tasks and implement automated provisioning workflows, development of containerization and orchestration (such as Docker and Kubernetes), and developing solutions that utilize APIs including understanding their documentation and making requests using tools (such as Postman).
- Constructs Cloud-based servers.
- Works with AWS support to mediate all issues and concerns within AWS infrastructure.
- Works with Azure support to mediate all issues and concerns within Azure infrastructure.
- Ensures client OS and Instances follow DISA STIG and ACAS findings and to meet DISA STIG security and mission requirements.
- Tests system and software interoperability.
- Translates service catalog epics into stories.
- Adds development tasks and story points.
- Guides junior IaC engineers.
- Participates in working groups, design reviews, and system tests.
- Works with the Cloud Architect to generate assessments, as well as develops and implements actionable recommendations based on results and reviews.
- Performs analyses, troubleshoots and designs cloud networking protocols and best practices.
- Develops on-premise and off-premise cloud-based architectures.
- Responsible for on-premise and off-premise cloud-infrastructure to include storage systems, e.g. NetApp, Nutanix, UCS, etc
